A brief history
Founded in 2006 in Decatur, Alabama, USA by
industry veterans Thomas Counts, Tommy
Siniard, and Jerry Golden, 3-GIS is a
telecommunication software and services
company established on fiber network solutions.
After 10 years working together, our leadership
team established their first company in 1996
where they built their first network management
software for enterprise use, what is now known
as Ericsson Network Engineer.

A brief history
In 1999, this company was purchased by
Telcordia Technologies, with whom the three
men continued to work for 7 years. During their
time there, they envisioned creating a web-
based utility network modeling platform -
transforming the industry mindset of network
management and leading to the launch of 3-
GIS.
The name 3-GIS refers to the third generation of
GIS - moving from paper drawings, to desktop
legacy systems, to a web-based platform - and
in 2007, our flagship product became the first
fully-editable, web-based fiber network
management software.

A brief history
By 2011, a partnership with Esri and GISTEC was
established, and we began marketing our Express
suite of applications for mapping both utility and
telecommunications infrastructure. During the same
year, we expanded our client base to international
markets.
In 2012, our core products were rebranded from
Network Express, Field Express, and Express
Conductor to 3-GIS | Web, 3-GIS | Mobile and 3-
GIS | Admin, collectively referred to as 3-GIS |
Network Solutions. 3-GIS Live, which packaged
these applications as the first fiber management
software as a service (SaaS), was also announced
this year.

Today, we provide geospatial asset
management solutions for fiber network
planning, design, construction, and
management, specifically focusing on
telecommunication infrastructure.
To date, 3-GIS has been used to model and
manage over 50 million miles (80 million
kilometers) of fiber networks across the globe.
With new office expansions to Bern, Switzerland
and Tampa, Florida, we continue to grow as a
leading software and service provider.

a standard Esri structure. This
allows the software to integrate
with common Esri applications,
including Esri ArcGIS Desktop,
PRO, ArcGIS Online, Portal and
Schematics.

that provides editing and management
functionalities for network assets and
connectivity.

3-GIS | Mobile is an Android-based, mobile
application allowing network data to be put
directly in the hands of work crews.
Field technicians can use the application to
receive work orders and make edits that can
be synced to the server and viewed by 3-GIS |
Web users at an office location.

A browser-based application used to
configure both 3-GIS | Web and 3-GIS |
Mobile.
3-GIS | Admin allows system administrators
to create a system of rules and guidelines to
define how the software is accessed and
used by users of all levels.

uses costing areas, serving locations and
existing infrastructure to generate prescribed

Our data model
With 3-GIS | Network Solutions, users can understand not only where network assets are located but also the way those assets work
together and interact with one another to bring service to the end customer.
We have developed a proprietary system for signal management, referred to as Modeling the Light Path.
Our model allows telecom companies to make more informed decisions about their networks to provide economic efficiency
throughout an entire enterprise by:

> Allowing users to quickly connect their network by creating, viewing, and editing individual fibers with ease
