DEVELOPMENT COURSES
Landmark A critical concern of any mining company today is its relationship with
the different stakeholder groups impacted by the operational activity
- communities, unions, vendors, local partners and competitors, local
and federal governments, interest groups and non-government
organisations. What ten years ago would have gone unnoticed, now,
and even more so in the future, can drastically impact the profitability
and even existence of a mining operation
G-Risk Risk assessment is a systematic analysis and evaluation of what could
lead to harm, or property damage in a workplace. The important
decision at the starting point is whether a hazard is significant, and
whether you have it covered by satisfactory precautions so that the
risk is so small as to be of no significant potential consequence.
Yellow Belt (Six Sigma) Six Sigma simply means a measure of quality that strives for near
perfection. Six Sigma is a disciplined, data-driven approach and
methodology for eliminating defects (driving toward six standard
deviations between the mean and the nearest specification limit) in
any process – from manufacturing to transactional and from product
to service.
Social Styles (WPM) Social Style training help assess behaviours and use that knowledge to
produce the results you want from others. You also discover your own
style strengths and learn how to minimize your style weaknesses.
Social Style training helps to understand the four styles, Amiable,
Analytical, Expressive, and Driver.
Managing the Shop Floor (WPM) Understand the demands on managers and the best methods and
tools to handle management. How to close the “gap” between
management and the workers, paving the way toward greater
productivity.
Whole Brain Learning (WPM) Whole-brain teaching is an instructional approach derived from
neurolinguistics descriptions of the functions of the brain’s left and
right hemispheres.

DEVELOPMENT COURSES (CONTINUED
Diversity Workshops (WPM) The course helped you how to welcome and value diversity issues,
how to work with similarities and differences in your organisation and
how to challenge and eliminate all forms of discrimination. Through
this understanding — racism, sexism, ageism and other forms of
discrimination, including subtle discrimination, are eliminated. How to
contribute to an environment which enables people to work together
and relate to each other with respect and understanding.
Assertiveness (WPM) The workshop involved self-esteem and self-expression in
intimidating interpersonal situations, especially at work. It is used also
as a therapeutic technique in treatment of dysfunctional behaviour
such as dependent personality disorder.
Client Handling (AEC) To achieve the highest level of management/co-workers/client
satisfaction and for management/co-workers/clients to have absolute
faith in your standard of work and the professional manner in which
you conduct your work/office.
Word Processing (Infotech) Word processing is the phrase used to describe using a computer to
create, edit, and print documents. Of all computer applications, word
processing is the most common. To perform word processing, you
need a computer, a special program called a word processor, and a
printer. A word processor enables you to create a document, store it
electronically on a disk, display it on a screen, modify it by entering
commands and characters from the keyboard, and print it on a
printer.
Secretarial (AEC) Person who organizes information and work for or on behalf of
another person (usually the boss).
Exception Secretary Seminar (ICM) Today's competitive environment demands more from office support
personnel than ever before. Today's secretaries and administrative
assistants are professionals who need a sophisticated set of skills to
meet their daily challenges. You are expected to:
 Communicate with people from every level of the organization …
by phone, e-mail, memo, or in person
 Juggle multiple priorities and demands with a packed schedule
and tight timing — all while staying cool, collected, and organized
 Stay on top of everything despite unforeseen changes, difficult
people, conflicts, and problems
