4. Feedback for Front Covers
• For my first front cover mock up, the one in which I have chosen to
be my front cover, was one of the favourites when discussing them
with my focus group. The feedback I gained for this cover was that
it had lots of teasers so intrigues, they liked the fact the masthead
was off centre, spread out so is easy to read, liked the placing of the
graphic feature as it wouldn’t distract from the central image.
• They said that the second front cover also had a lot of teasers so is
intriguing, the placing of the issue no/date/price was good as is out
of the way so doesn’t distract. This was their least favourite design.
• For the third mock up they liked the details of the issue
no/date/price underneath the masthead, cover line across the
central image is good positioning as it is the main focus of the
magazine. This had equal votes with the first front cover mock up
but as I prefer the first I chose that to be my final front cover.
