major gas infrastructure.
Negotiated in excess of 60 agreements while a Land Access Consultant.

3. Farmfest
Manager
1997 to 2000
Farmfest is an annual agricultural field day held near Toowoomba each year. The event hosts about
1000 exhibitors who attract up to 90,000 people over the three days of the expo.
As manager my responsibilities included

Source and negotiate participation at “Farmfest” with business owners and managers from
across the entire spectrum of business and government activity.
Writing the prospectus
Advertising – Television, radio, newspapers (interviews and editorials) and direct marketing.
Employment – “Farmfest” employs around 150 people before, during and after the event.
Management of food, drinks, security, equipment hire, couriers, first aid and traffic control.
Organise “Farmfest” launches – host the proceedings, take questions and talk to the media.
Ensuring that the grounds and amenities were clean, attractive and functional.
Organising the clearance and seed purchase of one of the first test crops of Industrial Hemp.
Achievements
Increased exhibitor numbers by over 150 in the time I was manager.
As far as possible I sourced all products locally, eg the event consumed 5 tonnes of hot chips
As far as possible all employees were sourced locally.
