1. Avicii Wake Me Up Music Video Final Edit
In comparison to my Rough edit I think the final edit has been more improved,
matches up to the storyboard better, has better shots and scenes and overall is
a complete better edit in my opinion. One of my favourite parts about the edit
is the introduction. I like the quick 10 second clips at the start which introduce
the scene and the where about of which the edit is filmed, it fits well because
the music doesn’t start until the clips are over. Another particular scene which
fits better than the rough edit is the running scene; again I made the scene
start when the song first kicks in but this time I’ve used a multiple of different
angles and shots mixed together so you see the surroundings and each point of
when Dan starts to run. Also coming to the end of the running scene Dan runs
up to the camera and as his chest just hits the camera the clip switches to him
running away from the camera so you see the front and back of Dan as he’s
running. I didn’t change much of the scene where Dan flashbacks to his child
memories I like the use of black and white and each angle and shot used so I
didn’t feel the need to change it in any way. And when the flashback is over
and he gets up I used the clip of where he sits down but reversed it so he
stands up and walks away. The edit towards the end I have darkened to show it
is later on in the day as also I brightened it at the start of the edit; I love the
ending how the clip suddenly goes to black as soon as the song finishes it’s a
good sudden finish to the edit. Overall the edit I like and I think it makes a lot
more sense than the rough, when reviewing it and over watching the final edit
I have discovered some minor unnoticeable mistakes which could have been
improved on e.g. one of the clips of the pond I have used twice but its quick
and takes quite some focus to notice it. I think the edit is distinction worthy.
