• Blood Drive – Had good turnout for MLK Community Service Weekend and Parade!! Good turnout for the Blood
Drive. With weather, etc. and the Brothers donating primarily (2 Zetas, 1 Delta and 1 AKA showed up) We were able
to collect 21 donations which impacted 63 lives – great job Alpha!! – Next Blood Drive in April (Final Four
Weekend!!) with RSO AKA Chapter – info to follow
• Walls Memorial MLK Church Service on Jan 19 – great representation by Brothers – Walls presented the chapter
with a plaque.
• MLK Prayer Breakfast at the NASCAR Hall of Fame on MLK Monday morning, Jan 20!! - we had 2 tables filled w
Brothers. 2020 MLK Celebration w Bro Andrew Young @ Halton Theatre on MLK Monday morning, Jan 20!! - had
great turnout!! .

27. • Walls Memorial Church – February 2020 Service Date – 3rd Saturday, February 15 from 10am to 1pm – We
NEED MEN’S CLOTHING – Men’s Shirts, Jeans, Pants, Shoe’s, Sneakers, etc. – Please continue to bring to
Chapter Meetings, to Walls Memorial directly or drop off at House!! Can leave donations in back room or call
me and we can meet so I can pickup!!
• 2nd Harvest Food Bank – Will look to schedule 1Q 2020 Community Service opportunity in March for Beta Nu
Lambda and keep Brothers in loop that can attend – information to follow
• Coat/Clothes Drive – Drive for distribution Uptown Charlotte – still ongoing & please BRING your Coats – Bro.

• Toy Assembly/Assistance/Clothes Closet – St. Paul’s Baptist Church – Will get more involved w St.Paul’s
throughout the year – also have Community Clothes closet and with enough Brothers we can make it
happen!!
• March of Dimes – Brother Eric DeWalt working with Bro. George to transition as BNL Lead in 2020!! 2020
Goal of $10,000.00 We will get this!!!
• Men’s Shelter – Cooking/Serving meals – Bro. Jones lead on this and will update with more information
about 1Q 2020 support opportunities.
• Meeting day/time – Had call last Wednesday, Feb 5 (Thursday, Feb 6) – moving forward will try to get
monthly Conference Calls scheduled (Wednesday nights before Chapter mtgs when possible) in 2020 and
look forward to working with those interested in bringing new ideas & initiatives to help us continue to do
the work of Alpha here in the Charlotte Community!!

■ B.E.A.M. Foundation held its annual meeting on 1/11/20 at the BNL
Fraternity House
‒ 2019 updates were provided for all committees: Education, Finance, and
Housing
‒ B.E.A.M. Foundation three year strategic plan was introduced
• The strategic plan will serve as a directional guide for the Foundation’s growth as
well as a measurable tool to connect our mission, purpose and vision.
• The B.E.A.M. Foundation’s strategic plan outlines vision and direction for the period
of January 2020 – December 2023 in the following areas:
• Operations & Governance
• Brand Management
• Technology
• Finance
• Education
• Housing
■ Open Board Positions: Secretary and VP – Communication & Technology
‒ The role of Secretary is to attend and record all monthly Foundation meetings.
‒ The VP – Communication & Technology will be responsible for
managing/crafting external communications on behalf of the Foundation.
Additionally, this role will be responsible for overseeing a committee to
manage the Foundation’s social media platforms and website.
