1. History of Company
Nature Valley is an american brand owned by General Mills that provides a variety of bars, granola, and
other snacks. Nature Valley was established in 1973 as a granola cerealcompany. However,they didn't
like the fact that their cerealwasn't designed to eat outside on-the-go, so they started working on
developing the first ever granola bar. Approximately 50 years later, Nature Valley now has plenty of on-
the-go snacks that can be enjoyed outdoors. They are also proud partners of the outdoors, teaming up with
severalorganizations including the National Park Foundation and Wilderness Inquiry. Recently in 2019
Nature Valley started to work with farmers to develop regenerative agricultural practices in an attempt to
preserve and protect the land we live on.
2. Brief Summary of Current Digital Efforts
 Instagram:
o Most posts are images of nature (national parks), reposts,partnership information for
recent projects, and charities
o Scarce posts featuring their products
o Low interactions with followers
 Twitter:
o Majority of tweets promoting current efforts relating to foundations and charities.
o Scarce posts featuring their product.
 Youtube:
o Occasional viral videos about campaigns or products.
o Descriptions generally feature a single sentence slogan but do not link any other social
media platforms.
3. Reason the Company Has Room for Improvement
 Company website requires you to search for a store, rather than listing the generalretailers.
 No linkage or coordination between social media platforms. Twitter, YouTube and Instagram
appear to be run independently.
 Little to no usage of hashtags or call to actions.
 Scarce engagement in posts.
 Minimal efforts at expansion (infrequent posts, product itself is hardly featured).
