3. Cartagena’s history
Cartagena is an historic city. The city was founded by
General Asdrúbal, with the name Qart Hadasht, in the
227 year b.C. When the Romans invaded Cartagena, they
called it Carthago Nova. The name has changed to
Cartagena. The Romans lived here for about 650 years.
Cartagena was one of the more important cities in
Hispania. Now, in Cartagena, there’s a very important feast
“ the Carthaginians and Romans”. There’s an important
and beautiful Easter too.
