Real Food, Exceptional People
Food: no boundaries, no barriers. It's all about a shared sensory experience...a deep
appreciation of flavors and ingredients. The processes, the stories, and the memories that
sharing meals creates. The Food Life captures these journeys, reveals personal stories, and
uncovers the fondest food memories of exceptional people all over the world.
You don’t have to be a chef to leave a culinary impression. The Food Life’s focus is not on
perfectly vetted recipes and romanticized food styling. Rather, it’s where you come to have fun,
be inspired, and celebrate cuisine in any and every form.
We are lovers of food and everything that comes with it. We don’t believe in a food culture that
is exclusive. We admire both the culinary leaders and the food-obsessed, but also appreciate
the rogue experimenters and semi-homemaders.

THE FOOD LIFE
10. THE FOOD LIFE VIDEO PROJECTS | CREATIVE DIRECTION | PRODUCTION
11. The Food Life collaborated with videographers and publishers to produce engaging and original short-form
video content.
“Seasonal in Season” is a series that showcases what produce and flowers are in season through a
clever partnership with contemporary fashion designers, wherein each dish that utilizes seasonal produce
is paired with a look from a designer’s most current “in season” collection. Participating designers included
Alexander Wang, Kenzo, Acne, Adam Selman and Trademark. The dishes were conceptualized and executed by
artist and food entrepreneur, Laila Gohar. Concepted, directed, and produced by Lauren Levinger.
“Fake Spring” was a video shot in partnership with Brutal Magazine and Coming Soon. The video
featured chefs from Mission Chinese, Dimes, El Rey and Pies n’ Thighs, all brought together by The Food Life to
participate in a neighborhood-themed “potluck” dinner hosted at Coming Soon in the Lower East Side. Each
chef was tasked to create a one-of-a-kind dish to celebrate the coming of Spring. The event was hosted at the
tail end of Winter, so guests were treated to a meal which debuted flavorful and inventive dishes from each
restaurant’s upcoming Spring menu. To showcase the creative process of the chefs, we shot a colorful stop
motion video capturing the “making of” each dish. Concepted, directed, and produced by Lauren Levinger.

15. Saved Alma was an event thrown in collaboration with tech-food startup Wine n’ Dine. The Food Life was
approached to curate a dinner in Los Angeles to celebrate the launch of their Instagram-inspired food app.
The event was hosted at Alma in DTLA. The restaurant had recently experienced financial challenges and had
launched a crowdsourced fundraiser asking patrons to “Save Alma”. The Food Life x Wine n’ Dine strategically
partnered with chef Ari Taymor to further publicize their much needed fundraising efforts.
Wine n’ Dine is fashion and food’s favorite new food app. It is a photo sharing platform for all things food. It
allows users to share and discover amazing dishes and restaurants all around the world. Not only can you share
pictures of your food, it allows people to save lists of food places they want to try, making it a real resource for
the culinary obsessed.
Chef Ari Taymor of Alma creates incredible and aesthetically compelling food - yet another reason we chose
to partner with the eatery. Guests were treated to a coursed meal inspired by the landscape and terroir of
Southern California, with ingredients sourced from local farmers and from Alma’s Flower Avenue garden in
Venice, CA.
Notable guests included Bella Hadid, Erin Wasson, Jesse Jo Stark, Caroline Vreeland, Natalie Joos and more.

18. FIGR APP | DIRECTOR OF PARTNERSHIPS | CREATIVE PRODUCER
19. FIGR is an app that takes the aspiration and artistry of fashion and turns it into a mobile game experience
that is both entertaining and impactful. The outfit creator app was modeled after the concept of “exquisite
corpse” and brought to life fashion’s greatest Hollywood-invented fantasy - Cher Horowitz’s virtual closet in
Clueless. Ever since we saw Cher swipe through the contents of her sartorial dream closet right on her desktop
computer to select a perfect outfit each day, we have yearned for a virtual closet of our very own.
Figr took these concepts and launched an outfit inspiration app which featured looks from contemporary
designers, bloggers, and street style. With just a swipe of a finger, the user becomes stylist - making the world
of fashion uniquely their own, creating dream outfits by combining things like Alexander Wang bustier tops,
with street style vintage Levi’s. FIGR engages with users at the point of inspiration and provides an interactive
platform for gaming and e-commerce.
Launch partners included designers Proenza Schouler, Acne, Alexander Wang and The Row, bloggers Leandra
Medine of Manrepeller, Susie Lau of Style Bubble, and Jayne Min of Stop it Right Now as well as veteran street
style photographer Phil Oh of Streetpeeper and Vogue.
FIGR received praise in industry publications including New York Magazine, InStyle, Fashionista, Harper’s Bazaar,
and Another Magazine, It was also highlighted in the iTunes app store as a featured new and noteworthy app in
the fashion category.
Creative direction and partnerships by Lauren Levinger.
23. To promote the launch of the FIGR app, we produced a promotional video with director Gordon Von
Steiner, bringing to life the functionality of the virtual outfit creator. The video featured model Laura Love and
highlighted designers who participated as partners in the launch including Alexander Wang, Acne, Kenzo, and
The Row.

26. In the past year, Levi’s® has helped create skate parks in underserved communities around the world, as far
away as India and Bolivia.
Skateboarding In Puerto Peñasco is a mini documentary chronicling the skatepark build right across our
own border in a small yet energized skate community in Mexico. The video paints a portrait of the local
skateboarders, and how Levi’s® joins the effort to help skateboarding where it’s needed most.
Post production by Lauren Levinger.
28. Levi’s® 501® button fly jean – the original and first ever blue jean – was born on May 20, 1873. More than 140
years later, it is more popular than ever. In celebration of 100 years of partnership with Cone Mills Denim in
North Carolina, the Levi’s® brand presents a four-part documentary film series, The 501® Jean: Stories of an
Original. The fourth episode takes viewers to Japan to learn more about how the label impacted popular
culture there in the 60’s and explores the lasting impact the Original 501® jean has had on Japan’s history.
Interviews include: Beastie Boys - Mike D, YOON & Verbal , Erik Brunetti, & Jules Gayton.

Fashion documented the entire production leading up to the runway show, alongside each designer, making
the experience of fashion week accessible online to the entire VFiles community.
35. Coach partnered with bloggers and directors to produce engaging and original video content for their newly
relaunched e-commerce website.
“The Archivist” was a video project shot in partnership with Todd Selby of The Selby. Coach has one of the
largest living archives in New York City. The heritage brand has maintained a collection of their most iconic and
celebrated pieces dating back to the brands inception in 1941. Coach wanted to open the formerly private
archive to the public, and chose to tell the story of it’s immense history through the “archivist” who oversees the
collection. Concept and production by Lauren Levinger.
“Generations of Style” was a video series devoted to the topic of personal style. Produced in
partnership with Ari Seth Cohen of Advanced Style, the videos featured one-on-one conversations between
fashion bloggers in their 20s and fashion “legends” ranging in age from 65 to 92. The intergenerational
project showed how ones love for fashion never fades and can only evolve with age. Concept and production
by Lauren Levinger.
40. Brutal Magazine called upon their fellow-foodie writers to contribute to their second issue, Stripped. The
magazine focuses on food and fashion, so we chose to interview artist and self-proclaimed foodie, Kalen
