4. REDESIGN PLAN
Since 1922, Broulim’s has been one of the gems of south-
east Idaho. The other day I went to pick up a few things
and noticed a sign for some fresh lemonade! I love me
some lemonade. I was so pumped about it. After taking
a closer look at the bottle, I realized that this bottle could
use some touching up… let me explain.
Now, I don’t want to be too harsh, but as a friend put it…
“it looks like it belongs in a hospital and with a ‘handle
with gloves only’ sticker.” This bottle was in desperate
need of a redesign.
5. So, I got to work. Since Rexburg is a college town,
I wanted to create a new design that was colorful
and modern and really made the bottle stand out…
something that would appeal to a younger, college-aged
audience. I began brainstorming about what was visually
appealing to me in a package design.
I went on the hunt to find a cute new bottle that fit the
theme of fun and bright. I ended up going with a
squarejuice bottle that makes the product stand out
more.
I think that the new design definitely speaks better to
college students. The old design didn’t do much
to promote the product and I’m sure sales weren’t
going through the roof with the product. With an
eye-catching design like this one, it will surely lead to an
increase in sales.

9. I kept the new logo big, and made it stand out on the
side of the lemonade bottle. I made it about 2 inches
on the long side. I placed it on the side of the bottle
making it a focal point since Broulim’s really wanted to
ensure that its customers knew it was a local product.
15. I wanted to create an adverisement that drew in the
college audience that I was going for. College-age
students are very visual people, so making
something visually appealing was a must. With an
advertisement like this one, sales are sure to increase
dramatically. I created an eye-grabbing poster that
could be displayed around town, or even just at
Broulim’s. I used colors that were the same as in my
product design to help keep everything universal
throughout the whole brand.
