control of brushstroke, fabrication skills, camera work on video
• “visual elements contribute to meaning /emotion/viewing
experience”– i.e., a large scale painting makes you feel a sense
of immersion; texture creates haptic visual experience (feeling
with your eyes - a sense of softness, roughness)

• Formal qualities (the most basic visual elements): line, texture, color,
shape/form, scale, pattern, repetition
