1. Cargo Transporters Equips Vehicles with EpicVue
Satellite TV package provides quick value for truckload operators
SALT LAKE CITY– March 3, 2015 – EpicVue, providers of premium in-cab
satellite TV packaged exclusively for the trucking industry, today announced that
Cargo Transporters is equipping its vehicles with EpicVue systems. Used as a
tool to assist with recruiting, retaining and improving driver quality of life, the
EpicVue package brings more than 100 channels of DIRECTV programming,
including premium channels such as HBO/Cinemax, SHOWTIME and the NFL
Sunday Ticket, into the comfort of a driver’s sleeper for a monthly subscription
fee and without any upfront hardware costs.
“We originally placed an order for 20 EpicVue satellite TV packages so we could
gauge ease of use, installation and driver feedback,” stated Dennis Dellinger,
president of Cargo Transporters. “The response was so overwhelmingly positive
from our drivers that we quickly ordered 70 more packages. It’s really quite
incredible to see how happy our drivers are to be getting TV in their sleepers.”
The EpicVue service for fleets includes a 24-inch flat screen TV, a DVR, an off-
air antenna used to pick up local channels and an EpicVue designed and
manufactured ruggedized satellite antenna for installation on the rear or the top
of the cab. Previously considered a cost prohibitive solution for commercial truck
drivers, EpicVue has packaged satellite TV for fleets with 20 or more vehicles for
$49 per month under a five-year contract, or $59 monthly for a three-year
contract.
“One of the best parts about bringing this product to the trucking industry is
seeing just how well received it is by drivers,” said Lance Platt, CEO of EpicVue.
“They finally get to enjoy the simple pleasure of television that probably just
about every one of us takes for granted on a daily basis. We are so pleased
Cargo Transporters drivers are getting to experience it now as well.”
