 Private Libraries become common. Samuel Pepys and Cotton Family
 1684 First Public Library Established.

 Fortunes of the cavalier families with land properity.
 Small Squire lived on the proceedings of farming his own land.
 Economic condition becoming unfavorable.
 2 Largest sections of society- Who cultivate and wage earners
 Agri and Industrial workers did not have any means of subsistence except
wages.
 Wages were regulated by Justices of the Peace.
The standard of living
 High standard of living. (National Characteristics)
 Stable diet of the time – Bread, beer and Meat.
 All population eat meat everyday.
Sports and pastimes
 Sports and pastimes become rare during puritan rule.
 They fear that sports and games spoil the solemnity of the sabbath.
