PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
GopherScope Mfg. LLC., New Hudson, MI Supply Chain Engineer Sep 2012– Present
Observes operations, collects data, and conducts analysis to provide solutions for maximizing supply-chain surplus under dynamic
business circumstances.
Supply Chain Performance Improvement Projects:
Identified customer segments for each product and developed quantitative forecast models for each, and established
objective measures of forecast error for continuous analysis and improvement. Improved forecast accuracy by 37%
Researched product compositions and proposed the use of common parts. Implementation of this idea reduced holding
capital for stocking multiple materials, the cost of shipping from multiple sources, and the expected losses due to shortages.
Researched product attributes and generated an Excel spreadsheet with product items tagged with their attributes and
embedded with search and filter function, so when shortages are foreseen, the sales team can recommend other products
with the same or similar attributes as wanted by the customer; this reduced losses due to shortages and bought time to
replenish inventory, as well as lowering the total safety inventory due to substitution effects.
Designed a tracking system for sold, recommended and substituted items along with the original demanded items, so as to
better predict real future demand.
Shared replenishment plan with a key supplier and helped to integrate their production plan into an aggregate plan in place
of a monthly make-to-order plan; this rendered their production more stable and reduced their overtime labor cost by 16%.
In return, they began holding more inventory for us, thus reducing the average lead time by 28%, which in turn saves on
expensive expedited overseas shipping cost and reduces the holding capital thanks to the lowered safety inventory level.
Collaborated with a key consignment customer and introduced a de-seasonal forecast method, increased integrated
forecast accuracy by 31%, and changed the replenishment policy for their consignment inventory from monthly review to
weekly review, reducing safety inventory and loss due to shortages by 42%.
Operations Efficiency Improvement Projects:
Developed a MySQL database and a system able to extract relevant data from our ERP system and manipulate it into the
desired format for further use. This saved 34% of the time previously spent generating reports and performing analysis.
Renamed products in a comprehensively logical way and transformed the item list shown on ERP into a categorized
hierarchical view, thus improving the ease of product recognition, saving the sales team time in searching for products, and
reducing human error during the sales process.
Designed and developed a user-friendly CRM system via Excel VBA language that enabled transfer and recording of
customer info, meeting scheduling, automatic postponement of expired schedules, searches for specific meetings using
customer info, sending of interdepartmental task requests, and recording/archiving of the daily work for manager’s review.
Collaborated with accountant on cost calculations, establishing account classifications, and integrating this information into
the ERP system to ensure each economic activity comprising business operations is automatically and accurately recorded
(e.g., COGS, Expense, Weighted Shipping Cost, etc.).
Other Improvement Projects and Responsibilities:
Designed a products page for the company’s website embedded with a filter function that introduces and advertises our
200+ products in a detailed and comprehensive yet logical manner.
Gather and extract essential data and information and generate analytic reports regarding procurement suggestions, cost-
reduction suggestions, inventory objective evaluations and impending business issues alerts.
