Students Enriching Ayurveda Research and Convenient Health .
This club is intended primarily for Ayurveda students & doctors who wish to take up systematic reviews along with interested ones on research works & an expert who has experience in doing such reviews . We wish to structure the protocol by incorporating the principles of Ayurveda, The search strategy that will includes an extensive listing of eastern data bases and hand searching. In Ayurveda, the titles of articles are not in the Population, Intervention, Control, and Outcome (PICO) pattern and sometimes the title and methodology do not tally. Therefore, a search of all types of studies is necessary to pool all the relevant publications. A data extraction form is needed to be proposed for use in assessing the quality of Ayurvedic studies. I hope the protocol provides a template for performing evidence reviews of Ayurvedic interventions.

2. NANONANOPARTICLES OF
BIOTITE MICA AS KRISHNA
VAJRA ABHRAKA BHASMA:
SYNTHESIS AND
CHARACTERIZATION
PAGE 02
Asmita Wele et.. al
Bio-inorganic nanoparticles or metal
nanoparticles are used in medicine for
diagnostic and treatment purposes. The
nanomedicines from traditional Ayurvedic
system are termed as bhasma. Rasashastra, the
branch of inorganic medicines of Ayurveda,
has documented monographs of metal-mineral
bhasmas as potent drugs. However there is lack
of scientific analytical data of the end products.
Objectives
The present study was aimed at finding out the
morphological, structural, elemental and
chemical composition of the Krishna vajra
abhraka bhasma (KVB).
Materials and methods
Bhasma of KVB (Biotite Mica) was prepared
in our laboratory using biotite mica sheets
befitting selection criteria and carrying out
further processes with strict SOPs as per AFI.
3. Results
The bhasma complied with the confirmatory
tests from Rasashastra. The physical and
physicochemical tests correlate with the results
obtained by instrumental analytical methods.
SEM revealed square shaped nanoparticles of
mean size of 92.3 nm. EDAX showed presence
of Si, Mg, O, Fe, Ca, Na, C, K and Al. XRD
revealed the crystalline nature of bhasma with
mixture of various individual oxides and spinel
shape of the crystal. DLS showed that the
nanoparticles are unimodal in nature. FTIR and
NMR showed the organic functional groups
obtained from cow milk and selected herbs,
indicating unique bio-inorganic nature of the
KVB.
Conclusion
The therapeutic potential imparted to the
formulation could be due to the cow milk and
specific herbs utilized during the
manufacturing process.

4. Chronic neck pain is a common musculoskeletal
problem in modern society. The current prevalence of
spinal pain is about 66% in the society, of which neck
pain constitutes 44% of patients that is only slightly less
than patients complaining of low back pain (LBP).
“Cervical spondylosis” (CS) is a common term used for
nonspecific neck pain due to unspecified degenerative
changes that occur in the muscles, tendons, joints, and
bones of the neck. Truly, CS is a degeneration of the
cervical spine resulting in reduction of disc space,
peripheral osteophyte formation, and involvement of the
posterior intervertebral joints leading to pain in the neck
and sometimes radicular pain or exceptionally
myelopathy.
Yoga is a traditional Indian spiritual practice having a
multifunctional exercise modality but is gradually
gaining global popularity. The positive impact of yoga
has been well documented in some unremitting
musculoskeletal pathologies, including fibromyalgia,
arthritis, and LBP. But its effect in CS is sparse with
only a few articles.
Effect of selected group of asana when used as an adjunct in management of
cervical spondylosis of mild to moderate severity: An observational study
There were 54 eligible patients who had visited the
AYUSH during the aforesaid time period but only 30
met the compliance/adherence/follow up for the study to
be analyzed. Among these, there were 19 males (63%)
and 11 females (37%), and their ages in mean (standard
deviation) were 45.61 (8.3) and 44.18 (9.78). The mean
(standard deviation) NDI score at baseline was 17.83
(4.749), which improved to 7.40 (3.180), p-value =
0.0001 at the final follow up at 8 weeks. The results of
repeated measures ANOVA is Wilk’s lambda = 0.096, F
(4, 26) = 61.22, p < 0.01, ŋ2 = 0.90. The decrease in
NDI is statistically significant, suggesting that yoga has
reduced disability. This improvement was also noted at
various time intervals (p-value = <0.001 each time).
There were no adverse reactions noted due to these
asanas.
Based on the findings, the study concluded that the
yogic practices “Specific Group of Asana” done for
eight weeks on home-based programs when added to
conventional medications helps in reduction of pain and
disability in people suffering from cervical spondylosis.
However, more extensive, comparative, and multi-
centric trials are required for establishing this as a
treatment modality.
PAGE 04
Management of CS is mostly non-surgical, particularly
in mild to moderate severity. These include oral anti-
inflammatory drugs with adjuncts such as exercises,
manipulation, or mobilization and all seem to be equally
effective.
moderate severity over a short time frame in terms of
their functional outcome at various time intervals. Adult
patients >18 years suffering from mild to moderate CS,
without any neurological signs were enrolled for the
study. The exclusion criteria were severe CS or those
waiting for surgery having radiculopathy/myelopathy.
The degree of severity was calculated based on neck
disability index (NDI) scoring (mild = 5–15, moderate =
16–25) by either of the researchers (MJ, SD, JS).
The module of SGOA was practised for a period of 30
min, supervised at first contact.
1 Skandha Chakra (Shoulder Socket Rotation) 5 min
2 Greeva Sanchalanasana (Neck Movements) 5 min
3 Makarasana (Crocodile Pose) 5 min
4 Advasana (Reversed Corpse Pose) 5 min
5 Jyetiska Asana (Superior Posture) 5 min
6 Marjari Asana (Cat Stretch Pose) 5 min
The patient’s devotion and conformity to the therapy
were self-reported. They were considered dropouts if
they agreed to have failed to practice SGOA for at least
four times in a week.
The aim is to study the possible benefit of using
“Selected group of Asana (SGOA) when used as an
adjunct in a group of patients with CS having mild to
5. Abhyanga means self-massage with warm oil. It is also prevalent as Ayurvedic Massage. It is

6. Q. HOW DO YOU INFER YOURSELF?
I can't deny that it creates some pressure to maintain
my grades but I always believed in the quote 'Focus on
what you can control' so I always do focus on my
studies, works rather than straining my energy on
stressing.
A person may go across different situations good or
bad , cheers and sorrows, can be in changing physical
and mental conditions ,so, I don’t think the ranks or
grades must be maintained throughout the life of an
individual. It does not matter either.
I'm an ambivert person. I'm a shy, introverted but
also a people person. I'm very thoughtful and talk
very little. I am a nature lover, optimistic,
imaginative, peace-loving and straightforward
individual. I am ambitious and driven.
Q. YOU WERE THE BOY TOPPER IN THE FIRST
PROFESSIONAL. HOW MUCH PRESSURE DOES
THIS CREATE ON YOU? HOW DO YOU DEAL
WITH THE PRESSURE?
PAGE 06
I love listening to music, visiting new places with my
loved ones, and cooking. And not to forget I'm a
cinephile. I love watching movies but I'm not a big
fan of the horror genre.
Q. ONLINE CLASSES WERE OPERATED DURING THE
FIRST LOCKDOWN AND NOW AS WELL. ARE THEY
FRUITFUL AS PER THE CURRENT SCENARIO?
In this harsh and miserable COVID-19 situation,
students ,people from all around the world have been
affected. The transition from in-person classroom and
campus experiences to virtual ones is quite
overwhelming. Seeing lockdown and misery
throughout the world, it is obvious, the condition has
worsened the socio-economic, physical and mental
status of human being. This definitely might have
worst effects on the grades and efforts of students
their future, the operation of online classes proved to
be beneficial. With the wide availability of Wi-fi
connections, students can be logged in from
anywhere in the world. But in the context of our
developing country with an unstable government,
poor policy making people were stressed and the
inaccessibility of internet services put more stress on
students, parents, and teachers.Talking about our
campus , administration unit should have made an
arrangement for the official online meeting room.
Q.WHAT ARE YOUR HOBBIES?
Q. HOW DO YOU MANAGE IN-BETWEENS FAMILIES
AND PALS?
There should be a balance between all the aspects of
life to live sanely. Family is my topmost priority. As
I'm a hosteler, when I visit home I give most of my
time to my family. I have a small circle of friends
who are always there for me in my highs and lows. I
like to keep in touch with them, whenever we all are
free. I count my friends as my family.
Q.WHOM DO YOU MOSTLY GET ALONG WITH IN
YOUR FRIEND CIRCLE AND WHY?
The very first person I've met joining Ayurveda
Campus is Sunil Bhusal. He is an amazing and
easygoing friend. I've got to learn many things from
him. He is also a spiritual soul with a warm heart.
His funny life experiences are such a mood lifter. I
don’t want to miss remembering Kiran Chandra
Poudel, Abiskar Adhikari, Dipanshu Pokhrel.
Q. ONE OF THE MOST STRIKING MEMORIES IN
ACTH?
Until this day, when I think about ACTH, the first
striking memory that comes to my mind is the
celebration of my birthday with all my batchmates
planting trees. It was a wonderful moment for me.
Good time indeed.
7. In my opinion, Politics need to be of great interest
to all people. And in my context, I do take interest
in politics and gaining knowledge about great
political leaders. But still, I don't see myself
involved in politics actively up until now as it
requires huge understandings, capabilities, and
strength which I may not have presently.
Talking about the politics of our country, I think we
are unable to select the best candidate who can
work for the nation’s interest and people's well-
being rather than fighting for their better political
positions fulfilling their only needs and interest.
Talking about politics not only on my campus
rather overall institutions, I feel that politics has led
to worse than good. It would be better not to have
the environment, a student needs to raise voice for
his/her overall academic welfare.
In educational institutions, specifically in
government universities and colleges, there can be
an abundance of problems students are facing.
There can be general issues with infrastructure or
problems with the quality education or problems
with receiving scholarships or incongruity in
fulfilling the faculties.
Q. ABOUT POLITICS, HOW INQUISITIVE ARE YOU?
WHAT ARE YOUR OPINIONS ON THE PRESENT
CONTEXT OF POLITICS IN OUR COLLEGE AS WELL
AS NATION? PLEASE TELL US ABOUT THE PROS
AND CONS IT HAS ON OUR STUDY.
PAGE 07
As such many of these problems cannot be solved
by individual students approaching the college
authorities. And in this situation, the students union
can represent the case of the students in front of
college authorities and helps to improve the
situation .
Issues that had no relation to the welfare of the
students must not be raised. Rather than indulging
in the rivalry, students have to work together only to
uplift the educational facilities and standards.
Instead of raising the flags , students must raise their
common voice. Students have the common set of
problems and common set of needs in an institution.
Rivalry between students favours the administration
, staffs to become irresponsible , careless towards the
student’s issue.
This is my opinion and I don’t think I should point
out and tabulize the pros and cons. The pros and
cons of student politics require us to create a sort of
workable balance between the two tendencies.
Q. YOU HAVE BEEN CHOSEN AS THE NEW
PRESIDENT OF HEPON. FIRSTLY,
CONGRATULATIONS. WOULD YOU LOVE TO
SHARE YOUR EXPERIENCE OF IT? WHAT NEW
THOUGHTS WOULD YOU LIKE TO IMPOSE ON
THIS ORGANIZATION?
Thank you. I have been recently chosen as the
president of HEPON. HEPON is a non-profitable, non-
governmental organization that has been active in
organizing lots of programs related to health facilities.
Being a member of this organization for about 3 years,
I have learned so much about the current situation of
health facilities and their distribution. And now being
chosen as the president of this reputed organization, I
feel astonished. It's my first experience as a president
in any organization, I take this as an oppurtunityand
equally a responsibility of mine and would love to
execute different programs regarding health education
, trainings, awareness about many health issues and
many more in the coming future.
8. Q. WHAT GROWTHS CAN BE MADE PRESENTLY?
HOW DO YOU RECKON THE PRACTICAL CLASSES
TO BE DEALT WITH?
For the theoretical studies, online classes are doing
fine. By saying that practical classes should not be
compromised in any case. As we are students of
the medical field practical classes are crucial and
of utmost need. Practical classes which are
interrupted due to the COVID-19 condition should
be conducted ASAP after the situation comes into
control.
Q. WHAT INFLUENCES HAVE AYURVEDA CARRIED
INTO YOUR LIFE?
Ayurveda has had a positive impact on my life. I find
myself with much changes regarding perception,
personality. Now, I don't take Ayurveda only as a
medical science which only focuses on treatment.
Rather, I choose to introduce Ayurveda as an absolute
science of life that gives the complete idea of life, the
art of living, regimens to be followed, the relation
between cosmos and living beings, and many more.
My belief has somewhat leaned towards the
Adhyatma Gyan (Spiritual well-being). Adhyatma
has made me explore my inner self, remain calm
,accept my weakness and discover my strength.
Q.ANY MESSAGES YOU HAPPEN TO WANNA
TELL TO JUNIORS AND THE ONES JOINING
IN THE FUTURE?
I want to encourage my junior to follow the
Ayurveda principles, understand its norms
and values. I want to advise them to be
hopeful and wonder about our ancient
knowledge and practices and not to get
frustrated comparing our field with others.
There are many opportunities in this field, we
have to just focus on our studies and have a
zeal to serve our field with our utmost ability.
One of my inspiring senior Dr. Saroj Mani
Pokhrel always quotes “ Learn, Live and Love
Ayurveda”. Best wishes.
