residents off the gas network in southern England
access funding for a gas connection and central heating
system to improve the warmth of their homes and slash
their fuel bills.
How the scheme can help
The available funding helps residents using electric storage heaters, coal or wood burners
reduce the amount they spend on energy with a new energy efficient heating system.
The fund helps householders reduce financial outgoings, improve their health and
wellbeing, and enhance the feel of their homes.
Available funding
For the majority of eligible residents that live near a gas supply, a connection will be fully
funded through the scheme.
The Help to Heat scheme may also be able to contribute towards the cost of installing a
new gas central heating system.
Funding is supplied from SGN with support from available schemes in the area. Those
referred are validated for funding against a range of eligibility criteria.
Who to refer
To receive funding, residents must be off the gas network and meet the eligibility criteria.
The criteria for the scheme gives consideration to the following residents:

๏ท People on low incomes with high fuel bills.
๏ท Residents classed as vulnerable through their councilโs statement of intent. If the
household income is low this may include elderly people, parents with young
children, or those with health conditions.
