RECOMMENDATIONS:
We wouldhighlyrecommendthatthe projectmanagerandthe projectteamshouldhave the
complete knowledge of the requirementsandthe in-scope/out-scope of the projectinorderto
have a smoothbeginning sotheydon’tmissoutonthe keyrequirementsof the project.
Havingthe desiredteammembersinyourteamisalwayshelpful,asyouhave the knowledge
regardingtheirstrengthsandweaknesses, butif thatisnot the case thenit ishighly
recommendedthatthe projectmanagergetstoknow more about histeammemberswhich
helpindelegatingthe workandachievingprojectsuccess.
Documentationisthe mostimportantandtime consumingaspectof projectmanagement.But,
if done properlyitwill alwayshelpwhile resolvingissues,resolvingconflicts,helpingteam
membersunderstandthe requirementsandmanagingchanges.
Thoughit isimportantto have coveredall the importantaspectsrelatedtothe projectinthe
projectmanagementplan,itisof utmostimportance tocontinuouslyreferbacktothe plan.Itis
reallyhelpful intermsof trackingthe progressof the projectand the checkingthe variance
between “whatwasaskedfor”and “whathas beenachieved”.
Once the riskshave beenidentifiedduringthe initial stages, itisimportanttokeepupdatingthe
progressonthe risksandif there are additionof new identifiedrisks, theyshouldbe mentioned
4. inthe same document(rollingriskregister). The same goesforthe issuesandthe change
requestsaswell.
It ispossible thatthe sponsor/customerasksforadditionorchangesinscope,if these are
approved,itisimportanttodocumentthemappropriatelyand anyapproval hasto be received
formthe authoritative personinthe project.Anychangeswithoutapproval willnotbe
considered.
The last thingthat we wouldrecommendisthe accuracyof the detailsandspecsmentionedin
the documents.Itshouldbe clear, concise andeasyto readand understand.
