3. Introduction of CPEC
China–Pakistan Economic Corridor is a
collection of bilateral developmental projects
and regional connectivity that are currently
under being constructed throughout Pakistan
and western Chinese province Xinjiang. This is
a part of One Belt-One Road project. Initially it
was valued at 46 billion dollars, as of 2018, this
worth is almost 62 billion dollars.

beneficiaries especially Pakistan and PRC.

13. Benefits for Pakistan
CPEC will be a game changer for Pakistan once it is functional.
CPEC will be cause of FDI in the country
As Pakistan is suffering from energy shortage but CPEC is much more about the
Energy sector. 50% of the investment is kept for the production of electricity which
is estimated to be 16500 megawatts.
FDI will ultimately enhance the economic activities in the country.
Six Free economic zones will be established all along the country on the route of
CPEC.
Telecommunication field is expected to grow. OFC etc
Balochistan was unfortunately the ignored part of Pakistan will be given the
opportunity to develop.
14. Benefits for Pakistan
Military usage of CPEC, as thr Port city gawadar do provide the strategic
importance to Pakistan. Gawadr do have the potential to act as a Naval base for
joint venture of Pakistan and Chinese navies.

China has given a huge amount of loan on a high interest. CPEC estimation is
almost 62 billion dollars with an interest of 27%
It should also be kept in mind that this is not an FDI completely
China will recover its investment in 26 months after project completion and bleed
Pakistan for the contract of 25 years. Usage of elect. Instance are Sri Lanka and
Venezuela
If Pakistan starts paying it now by 8% annually, it will complete pay the debts in 43
years.
One sided bids for Chinese companies. No share in Pakistan
Preference for Chinese workforce. Quarters, Security etc from Pak.
No Toll for Chinese
CPEC is plan B
Transfers Coal factories to Pakistan. Environmental pollution and affects health.
