This diagram shows the basic components and process of a refrigeration cycle. A compressor increases the pressure and temperature of vapour from an evaporator. This high pressure vapour enters a condenser where it condenses into a liquid, releasing heat. The low pressure liquid then enters an expansion device and evaporator, where it absorbs heat and evaporates back into a vapour to complete the cycle.
