The document discusses how effective communication facilitates good leadership. It outlines four key strategies for communication as a leader: listening, facilitating, questioning, and using discretion. A leader must play three integrated roles in communication: as a communicator to deliver messages, a strategist for communication planning, and a supporter of the communication system infrastructure. The document also covers developing a communications policy and strategy, tools for internal and external communication, effective communication structures and flow, and managing the grapevine communication channel.

The grapevine serves as an emotional supportive value.
The grapevine supplements formal communication.
Disadvantages of Grapevine Communication

The productivity of employees may be hampered as they spend more
time talking rather than working.
