done, made, used, etc

is often confused…

which I’ll talk about

11. For the time being, here’s
how they should
be looked at

12. PURPOSE is often times
long term or even for
the life of the subject

13. As for the mission, it may
be either short term or
long term and…

14. Is often a specific
expression of
the purpose

15. You may look at mission
as a subset of
the purpose

16. Now for some quick
simple examples
on purpose

17. An eraser’s
intended
purpose is to
erase

18. That’s what it was
made for…

19. Although I
used it to
play games
with…

20. My classmates in my
primary school
years… :D

21. A water
bottle’s
purpose is…

22. To contain water
for consumption

23. A car’s
purpose is…

24. To get from point A to
point B on the roads

25. You get the drift?
No pun intended!

26. When it comes to people
& organizations…

27. It tends to get a little
more complicated

28. Though it doesn’t
have to be

29. Something useful
to note is…

30. Until one is clear about
their purpose…

31. Their priorities and
productivity may
matter little

32. This is something I’ll talk
about more exhaustively

years ago…

34. A mentor of mine
once said…

35. “Rather than figure out
what your life’s purpose
is, learn to live life
purposefully”

36. He proposed that a
person’s search for…

37. His true life’s purpose
may be endless
and futile

38. For many, that may
be a waste of time

39. A couple of years
later in 2010…

40. Another mentor on a
late night supper
talked about…

41. Being purposeful in
all that you do and
at all times

42. And that ignited
& sparked off
something
powerful which
has…

43. Greatly impacted me in
the years to follow and…

44. Ultimately, I believe for
the rest of my life

45. Many times, purpose can
appear broad and vague
because of its nature

46. Whereas the mission is a
lot more specific and…

47. Aligns itself with
the purpose

48. Let’s look at one famous
global company & a few
people as examples

49. Starting off with
Walt Disney…

50. The Walt Disney
company’s overarching
purpose is to…

51. CREATE
HAPPINESS
for others

52. That’s the unifying
purpose of their entire
organization

53. They achieve this by a
specific mission for each
of their businesses
such as…

54. Their media networks,
their parks and resorts…

55. Their studio
entertainment, etc

56. Now let’s
look at
Nelson
Mandela

57. He was a South African
Activist who…

58. Purposed himself to
BRING AN END TO
APARTHEID or
discrimination

59. You can search & read up
on how he did that as
his lifelong mission

60. For Ralph Waldo
Emerson, it is to
be useful, to be
honourable,
to be
compassionate…

61. To have it make some
difference that you have
lived and lived well

62. In Helen
Keller’s case,
she said…

63. “Life is either a daring
adventure, or nothing”

64. For me, my purpose
is simply to
impact lives

65. This is NOT JUST about
your vocation or career…

66. It can & should
encompass your
entire life

67. From your daily living
to your family and…

68. The various social circles
you may be involved in

69. Now in closing…

70. Don’t despair if
you aren’t
already clear
what
your purpose is

71. Many people even
in their 60s or 70s
don’t know too

72. I’ve spoken with
many of them

73. So rather than think
along the lines of…

74. “What do I think I
was born to do?”

75. An easier & more
practical way to
approach this is…

76. “How can I live more
purposefully?”

77. Or ask yourself…

78. “What do I really, REALLY
want to do with my life?”

79. Having said this, you’ll
like to know clearly…

80. What your purpose is
sooner rather than later

81. In Christian circles, we
call it “God’s calling
on your life”

82. This really goes beyond
your spiritual or
religious inclinations

83. You’ve got to
figure out
in your heart
of hearts…

84. What you truly believe
you were born or
designed to do

85. No one else can figure
this out exactly
for you

86. They can
possibly point
you in the right
direction
though

87. So here’s what I’m

as something to do
with your purpose

90. In other words… you’re
more excited about

young

machines
