Sought-after engineering professional with an exceptional record designing and engineering solutions for complex,
high value solutions for the nuclear energy, waste management, food/beverage and semiconductor industries. Proven
expertise developing and implementing systems and processes for firms such as GE Power & Water, Bechtel,
Babcock & Wilcox, CH2M, Basic American Foods, AMI Semiconductor and others that improved productivity,
efficiency, yields and environmental health and safety performance while reducing costs. Can contribute by:
r Reengineering processes to improve performance & quality
r Ensuring rigorous environmental, health & safety compliance
r Delivering complex projects with tight time & budget constraints
r Streamlining operations to boost efficiency, quality & productivity
A natural leader, intuitive problem solver and astute analyst. Education includes a BS in Chemistry from Idaho State
University, a BS in Sociology New York Regents / Excelsior College and nuclear power training in the US Navy.
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
Played a key role in $4B Greenfield project proposal. Recruited by GE/Hitachi for nuclear fuel project bid for the UK
Nuclear Decommissioning Agency. Core member of team that developed a cradle-to-grave solution, encompassing
every phase of fuel management from materials receipt to final disposition. Currently a finalist in the bidding process.
Doubled capacity in fuel fabrication facility design. GE/Hitachi needed to increase capacity of nuclear fuel plant
being proposed for the UK NDA. Reengineered the design of equipment, processes and workflows. Increased capacity
from 2.5 metric tons to 5 metric tons of plutonium annually to meet the client’s production capacity requirements.
Corrected a safety deficiency at a nuclear plant. BSRW needed to cure a safety violation in the Expended Core
Facility at Idaho National Labs. Directed design, engineering and construction, improving handrails around nuclear fuel
storage pools. Completed the fully OSHA and DOE compliant project 5% under budget and 5% ahead of schedule.
Devised a cost-effective water treatment solution. Integrow was looking for ways to cut wastewater costs.
Reengineered an existing system. Increased capacity to sharply reduce dependence on costly municipal treatment
options. Saved $612K in annual municipal fees, generating a $112K first-year ROI on the $500K CapEx cost.
Turned around an underperforming lab. Rapid growth was exerting pressure on MVL capacity. Realigned
operations, balancing resources between two facilities. Implemented new ICP-MS, ICP OES, GCMS processes and
instruments at the weaker of the two labs. Accelerated sample analysis cycle times. Boosted productivity 10%+.
