4. Meaning of skill based activity :
★ A skills-based activity is an actual skills practice during
which training participants physically practice the skills
they are learning.
★ It takes a great deal of time to master a skill.
★ Example : An example of practicing an actual skill is
driving a car during a driver’s training class.
5. 1) GYMNASTICS :
MEANING OF GYMNASTICS
❖ They are physical exercises and activities performed to increase the body’s
strength, balance and ability to move gracefully often using equipment
such as bars and ropes.
❖ A roll is basic skill that comprises of complete rotation of the body usually
made on the ground.

6. Front (forward) roll
➢ It is the first basic learnt element which is started from standing position then the gymnast crouches
down, places their hands shoulder wide apart and hands facing forward.They tuck their chin to their
chest and place the back of their head onto the floor.
➢ They then push off of the floor with their legs and rotate over their head onto their back. The
gymnast then presses their feet onto the floor and whip the arms to stand up.
7. Back (backward) roll :
● The backward roll is similar to the forward roll, but in reverse.
● The gymnast starts in a standing position and bends to a squat/sitting position with their arms in
front. They then lower and lean back slightly until their bottom reaches the floor. Then they roll
over their back onto their shoulders.After, they should place their hands next to their shoulders and
tuck their head into their chin. The hands then push the floor strongly and straighten their arms and
continue to rotate their body over their head. The feet are then placed on the floor and gymnast
stands.

games :
★ Athletics is considered to be mother of all
games as it is an all-round sportsperson
with skills for cricket, football, tennis and
has immense control of his body and
senses.
★ Athletics not only builds you physically
but it helps in body coordination and
gives you mental stiffness.
★ Athletics is an exclusive collection of
sporting events that involve competitive
running, jumping, throwing, and walking.

16. 4) Human pyramids :
A human pyramid is an acrobatic
formation of three or more people in which
two or more people support a tier of higher
people, who in turn may support other,
higher tiers of people. People above the
bottom tier may kneel or stand on the
shoulders, backs or thighs of the people
below them.
