3. 5-7 year program, with rotations every 18-24 months.
We look for undergraduate students who are finishing a degree
in the mathematics/statistical/financial fields.
The program financially
supports exam fees and
study materials for the
Society of Actuaries (SOA)
exams, as well as paid study
time, formal training
sessions on how to pass the
exams, and a large support
and mentorship network.

ACTUARIAL | EXECUTIVE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
A program director, who is also
an FSA, will work with you to
identify diverse roles that will
both challenge and develop
your professional skills.
You’ll receive professional
development that will help shape
and support you in pursuing senior
level management & leadership
roles throughout Cigna.
Be a part of a large, welcoming
community: we have over 200
FSAs and program participants!

4. 4-7 year program, with rotations every 2 years.
We look for CPAs or MBA students with 2-4 years of
experience.
Rotational program areas
include: accounting, audit,
business decision support,
financial planning and
analysis, pricing, project
management, treasury and
capital management, and
underwriting.
Work out of our Bloomfield, CT;
Philadelphia, PA; or Nashville, TN offices.
You can expect challenging
on-the-job learning
alongside feedback,
coaching, and development
from managers.
You’ll have the chance to
experience training opportunities
such as learning Six Sigma,
financial interrelations seminars,
and a field trip to the New York
Stock Exchange.
FINANCIAL | DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR EARLY CAREER PROFESSIONALS

5. 5-8 year program, with rotations every 12-24 months.
We look for individuals with an MBA, MPH, or MHA along with 3-5
years of previous work experience.
Work out of our Bloomfield, CT office for
your summer internship & first rotation.
HEALTH SERVICE | LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR GRADUATE STUDENTS
Rotations focus on four core
areas: Foundational Leadership,
Personal Leadership and Global
Mindset, Managing Others &
Strategy Development, and
Enhancing the Business.
You’ll have access to a two-tiered
mentor system: you’ll be paired
with an established & current
Health Leadership Program
associate as well as an executive
mentor.
You’ll participate in extensive
trainings, experiences, and
personalized development to
strengthen your business
acumen and contribute to the
organization in meaningful
ways.
The Health Service Leadership
Program started as a way to
develop strong, capable general
management talent with broad
knowledge across the enterprise.

6. 24 month program, with three 8-month long rotations.
We look for undergraduate & graduate students who are
interested in business and healthcare.
Work out of our Birmingham, AL; Houston, TX;
Nashville, TN; or Philadelphia, PA offices.
MANAGED CARE | ROTATIONAL PROGRAM
FOR UNDERGRADUATE & GRADUATE STUDENTS
You’ll have the chance to
work on cross-functional
projects that support both
your local market & the
overall Seniors organization.
The Managed Care Rotational
Program allows you to rotate
through several departments, such
as business development,
contracting, network operations,
and more within our Cigna
HealthSpring program.
Mentorship is built through both
formal and informal channels, and
include alumni of the program
and market leadership. Your
mentors will help you achieve
rotation objectives, personal
growth, and your own career
goals.
You’ll learn how to
manage care while
making positive
contributions to the
business.

You’ll start in our Chattanooga, TN; Bloomfield, CT; or
Phoenix, AZ offices for your first rotation.
OPERATIONS | LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
As an associate, you’ll have
the opportunity to be directly
involved with core operations,
oversee projects, and manage
teams that have a direct
impact on the health and well-
being of those we serve.
Training & development
opportunities include
management skills,
Strengths Finder, effective
communication, conflict
resolution, assessing
talent, data analysis, and
motivating others.
During training, you’ll travel
to multiple service sites
around the country to gain
an in-depth understanding
of our operations, plus how
the different departments
support our greater
organization.
At the end of your third
rotation, you’ll find
yourself in roles with
expanded responsibilities
that allow you to continue
professional
development and make
significant contributions
to the company.

10. 24 month program, with three 6-10 month long rotations.
We look for undergraduate students who are finishing a degree.
You’ll have the opportunity to work in locations across the
US, depending on our business needs.
SALES | CIGNA SALES ACADEMY
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
You’ll start with an intensive
10 week summer training
program that provides you
with the support, training,
and resources you need to
begin your career.

In addition to your managers
and mentors, you’ll receive
support from coaches,
classroom facilitators, and
Sales Academy alumni. You’ll
also have the chance to meet

business partners, clients,
and serving as the voice of
sales.

11. 3-5 year program, with rotations every 1.5 - 2 years.
We look for recent college graduates & early career professionals
with a degree in Information Technology or similar discipline.
Develop and refine technical
leadership & business skill
through challenging IT
assignments and formalized
training.
Work out of Bloomfield, CT; Philadelphia, PA; Sioux Falls, SD;
Denver, CO; or Minneapolis, MO…or go global with international
opportunities!
You’ll have access to the
Technology Early Career
Development Program class
program manager, assigned IT
role manager, a program
“buddy,” mentors, peers, and
co-workers.
Completion of the program will
help identify a permanent role
within one of our functional IT
areas.
TECHNOLOGY | EARLY CAREER DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
You’ll be part of a select
committee that helps influence
the program directly while
building your own leadership,
technical, and soft skills.

12. 6-9 month program. We look for undergraduate students who
are finishing a degree in risk management, finance, accounting,
math, or business.
Work out of our Bloomfield, CT; Philadelphia, PA;
Phoenix, AZ; Nashville, TN; or Denver, CO; offices.
UNDERWRITING | LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND RISK ASSESSMENT PROGRAM
FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS
Chose from a variety of
different career paths: pursue
management, move across
business units to underwrite
new product lines, or transfer
into a new functional area
like Actuarial, Sales,
Marketing or Training.
Learn through a
combination of instructor-
led classroom training,
self-study, and on-the-job
experience for both Cigna
Group Insurance and
Cigna Healthcare.
You’ll help determine the
appropriate premium rate level
& plan design structure of
individual cases, analyze total
case profitability, and conduct
customer negotiations with
Sales and Account Management
on their book of business.
You’ll have a direct
impact on business by
assessing the risk and
profitability of potential
new business.
