2. Why we go for Switching
When I used to connect 2 systems Point to
Point topology (i.e. Cross Over Cable /
Straight Cable )is enough.
When I need to connect 15 nodes Bus Topology
(i.e. A long Straight Cable) is enough.
But when I need to connect 1000 nodes there is
the only possibility of going for Switching.
3. Definition
It is a hardware device that connects multiple
computers together in a LAN.
(OR)
It is a device that channels incoming data from
any Input port that will take the data to the
intended destination.
8. Circuit Switching Definition
It is a type of network in which the physical path
(i.e. Some Cables should exists there)
obtained to a single connection between 2
endpoints.
Ordinary Voice Phone calls is an example for
Circuit Switching.
10. Real time Example of Circuit Switching
Restaurant and Customer
When we go to a Restaurant suppose if you
allocate 5 seats for reservation for your
friends, if your friend arrive correctly at the
time the seats can be used otherwise it
(Resources) are wasted.
12. Explanation
Per Connection state represents it is only
possible when the number of systems are low.
Once a connection has been established
between 2 others can’t be provided because
the connection has been reserved for 2
systems.
13. Why we go for Packet Switching
It is not possible for handling millions of
Internet Connections.
If a link providing the connection between 2
devices fails manual intervention is needed .
