1. Questionnaire
I carried out a questionnaire based on 10 questions, these questions varied from
asking what gender they were to what colours catch their attention in a magazine.
The questions were asked to five Year 7 students and five Sixth Form Students.
Based on their answers I have created charts showing the results and analysed the
recordings.
I would like to see a Sixth Form magazine as it would give me a look at what
life in Sixth Form is like. It would also help me in deciding if I would enjoy
going to the Sixth Form .
Grace, 12
A Sixth Form magazine would only be a interest to me if the content in the
magazine was enjoyable and it covered things such as upcoming things in
school.
Ryan, 16
2. Are you Male or Female?
Analysis
The reason this was uneven is that I
gave my sister questionnaires to
hand out and she majorly gave
them to her friends while I gave
them to male and females.
3. How Old are you?
Analysis
Again, as I gave out half and
my sister gave out half half of
the people were below 15
and half 16 or 17.
4. How many magazines do you buy a
month?
Analysis
A large proportion of pupils
don’t buy any magazines at all
and the one who do only buy
one or two, we must try and
find out why this is and
change the way they access
information or adapt to it.
5. What genre of magazine do you read if
you read one?
Analysis
This graph shows that most
pupils don’t read any type of
magazine which is surprising,
so somehow this could be a
audience that the magazine
could be aimed at.
6. What would you like to see from a school
magazine?
Analysis
The most popular instalment
wanted in the magazine was
competitions, this
information could be useful
when thinking on what to
content to put in my
magazine.
7. How much do you expect a magazine to
cost?
Analysis
Most people expect a
magazine to cost over a £1
but below £2.50 as the graph
shows, most quality
magazines cost more then
this due to paper quality and
such things so maybe pupils
care more about content
rather then production.
8. What do you consider a fair price?
Analysis
A lot more people now see
magazines fairly priced at
under a pound but taking into
context that people obviously
want to save as much money
as possible this is to be
expected so category above
this one is best suited.
9. What colours catch you attention in
magazines?
Analysis
Red as I suspected is the main
colour to catch the attention
of potential buyers, red
stands out a lot and is bright
like yellow but has more class
to it.
