Conclusions to the audience research

Audience Research – Results and ConclusionsAfter I tallied my results up I decide to draw a conclusion for each question asked within the questionnaire,here I will explain how these results will influence my decisions that I’m going to make on my new magazine.Question One: Gender-Female- 8Male – 12These results clarify that more males answered the questionnaire on classical music so therefore I will keepthis in consideration when looking at my feature articles, fonts, background and images around the magazine.This is because if more males are interested in the magazine then it suggests it should be more maleorientated for example, featuring a male artist they could relate to.Question Two: Age - Age 20 10 0 15-16 16-18 19-24 25+As you can see the questionnaire was based on the answers of 20 different people, the majority is betweenthe 19-24 category which is shortly followed by the 16-18 with the anomalies of 25+ and 15-16. This meansthat I will aim to provide entertainment for all ages in the magazine but primarily this means that whenproducing my magazine I will focus on that age group for my target market. For instance, I will make morearticles appealing to that age group.Question Three: How often do you buy a magazine? How often do you buy a magazine? Daily Weekly Monthly 10% 25% 65%When analysing this question it’s apparent more people buy monthly magazines. This result finalises mydecision to produce a monthly magazine because it would be more likely to be bought as the majority buy amagazine monthly.

Which magazine would you be most likely to buy Monthly Weekly Other 5% 20% 75%These set of results show that people would be more likely to buy a magazine monthly. What three words would you associate with classical music? 14 12 10 8 6 4 2 0These results show that 12 out of the 20 people all put ‘Piano’ in their answer, this means that I would base mymagazine around the instrument of a piano. I could do this buy choosing artist who play the piano as part ofthe classical music genre.Question Seven: Do you think that a Piano is most associated with classical music?Yes – 18No – 2This shows that the large majority say the piano is most associated with classical music, this means that whenfeaturing artists I will decide to focus on maybe solo artists who play piano.Question Eight: What is your favourite colour? My decision on colour schemes will be based around these colours. These can be used throughout themagazine

Question Nine: When looking at magazine front cover which do you prefer?The answers available for selection were: - A simplistic layout – Clear fonts, easy to read, lack of information present - A complex layout – Interesting Layout, A lot of information in a small space, still readable Simplistic- 13 Complex – 7These results conclude that I will produce my magazine front cover with a simplistic layout as more peoplewould prefer this. This would mean that I would use clear fonts, make it easy to read and stay low on theinformation present on the front cover,Question Ten: Out of these who is your favourite Classical Musician/Artist/Band? Which classical musician do you prefer? 14 12 10 8 6 4 2 0These results show that more people prefer the musician ‘Katherine Jenkins’ compared to any other onesuggested. This means that I would do a featured article on her or include information, tour dates and newreleases from her in the magazine.

Classical Music Magazine I don’t know 10% 90%These results suggest that not only does the majority of people ask know any competitors but the onesuggested would be a small competitor this shows that the market is open for a new era classical musicmagazine. I will check out the magazine suggested by the minority and improve mine in comparison to that.Question Twelve: What do you like about Magazines you currently read? White Cream Beige 25% 35% 40%These results show that most people think cream would be the most appealing colour for the magazine. This means that I couldmaybe price the magazine higher as people are already interested in buying this magazine.
