The Association of contract packagers was established to standardise processes that investigate, analyse and resolve packaging issues, to create agreed standards that apply to general contract packaging of wine and collaborate with suppliers to identify and then resolve dry goods faults using our combined knowledge and expertise in the packaging of wine.
When Andrew McPherson reached out for sponsorship of the 2016 Forum – the response was overwhelmingly positive as you can see from the sponsorship banners at each side of the stage.
On behalf of the WPA I thank each of you for your support and know that we all play an equally important role in bringing our collective knowledge and expertise to the table to forge a way forward.
<DAVID>
At the 2015 Forum, consensus was reached on:
Label Panel Minimum 5mm from end of curve – all bottle drawings to be updated by Glass Suppliers

The Pressure Sensitive Label specification and label size graphs be used by designers and label printers

Now, I would like to introduce Nathan Gogoll- our MC for the day.
Nathan grew up in the Barossa and has been exposed to the wine industry most of his life (for example, work experience as a 15 year old was done with the Penfolds winemakers at Nuriootpa). He has held a variety of industry roles and even has two vintages under his belt.
Together with his journalism experience in regional papers and other wine industry publications, Nathan is well placed to deliver relevant industry information in his role as editor of the Grapegrower & Winemaker magazine.
