Local Lunch Script
1. LOCAL LUNCH SCRIPT
JASMINE: Good afternoon and welcome to Local Lunch! My name is
Jasmine Fogoe.
JULIA: And my name is Julia Elloso! Thanks for tuning in on this lovely

JASMINE: Today’s headline - “Treasured student in critical condition

areas to the information on this year’s Brits winners.
CUT TO TITLE SEQUENCE
JULIA: Gabbie Johnson was discovered unconscious at her home in Sutton
Coldfield at 11:13 pm last night. She seemed to had overdosed on
prescription pills and is now in critical condition in Birmingham’s Children’s
Hospital.
JASMINE: Gabbie’s mother told Local Lunch that she “had no idea
that the school’s students were capable of such cruelty.” She is
outraged that the school has such a loose anti-bullying system and
urges for them to reform their policies at school in order to prevent
this from happening again.
2. JULIA: Our correspondent Rhys Bradshaw is currently at the school with
Gabbie’s best friends. Hello Rhys!
CUT TO RHYS ON LOCATION
RHYS: I’m here with Gabbie’s best friend Holly who’s here to tell us what
she thinks led last night’s terrible incident…
HOLLY: Gabbie was not physically bullied. It was cyber bullying. People
would leave nasty comments on each of her posts. They would say some
really horrible things. I think her self-esteem was so low she couldn’t think
of another way out.
CUT TO TRACKING SHOT OF RHYS
RHYS: This incident has had a major effect on the West Midlands however
it is not an isolated event. According to the NSPCC, Childline received over
24,000 regarding counselling sessions for children being bullied. In fact
more than 16,000 young people are absent from school due to bullying.
The statistics are increasing rapidly due to the fact it cannot be seen in
physical form.
RHYS STOPS WALKING
3. RHYS: We spoke to Mr Elhabid at a local Sixth Form to ask him his
thoughts about bullying and how his school helps to prevent it from
occurring.

more strict rules in order to protect young people from bullying, if so, how
