•Network
•What is a network?
Set of computers, communications equipment and other
devices that can communicate with each other through a
particular medium.
The actual connections are made using cable that can
be hidden behind desks, on the floor or ceiling.
•A network to share the following types
of resources:
Processor and RAM, running other
PC programs
 Hard drives.
 Floppy disk drives.
 CD-ROM.
 Tape drives.
 Printers.
 Fax.
 Modem
Network Functions
Develop and monitor the implementation of strategic planning in Information
Technology and Telecommunications of the University.
Develop and organize political and Development Regulations Computer Use
and in college, and monitor compliance.
Formulate, direct, organize and enforce information security policy of the
university.
•Types of topology
•Bus topology
In the linear bus topology all computers are connected on the same line.
The cable comes from one computer to the next and so on.
•Advantages of Linear Bus Topology
This topology is simple and easy to fix.
Is relatively less expensive because it requires less wiring unlike other topologies.
•Disadvantages of Linear Bus Topology
The linear bus network is known as a passive topology because computers do not
regenerate the signal.
•Ring topology
This topology connects computers with a single cable in a circle. Unlike with bus
topology, the tips are not connected with terminated.
Advantage
 The system provides equitable access for all computers.
 The performance does not decline when many users use the network.
Disadvantages
The failure of a computer alters the functioning of the entire network read.
 The distortions affect the entire network.
•Star Topology
Topology Star topology is one of the UN Most Popular LAN (Local Area
Network). Each is implemented Computer connecting a central axis of the UN.
•Advantages of Star Topology
The star topology has two Major Advantages of a difference Bus and Ring
topology.
It is easy to reconfigure, SCHEME Add or remove a computer is as easy connect
or disconnect the cable from Como
•Disadvantages of Star Topology
That is expensive and requires more buses I Cable and Ring topology.
Separately Cable Travel Hub Each Computer.
TOPOLOGY IN TREE
The tree topology is a variant of the star. As the star, tree nodes are
connected to a central hub that controls the network traffic.
•Advantages:
Connect more devices.
Allows communications prioritize different computers.
Disadvantages:
It requires more wire.
The measure of each segment is determined by the type of cable used.
