2. Action Film
costumes
When watching action films in the past I have always
found that they consisted of at least one person wearing a
suit.Whether that be a ‘hero’ or ‘villain’. So because of
this I wanted to incorporate it into my film. In Point Break
the villains hide their identity's with masks so in my short
film I’m not going to have my villain wear a mask but
instead their identity is going to be hidden by the lack of
lighting in the room. This is the effect that costumes can
have an audience as they can create tension and a sense
of uncertainty. They also can tell you a lot about a
character e.g.Wealth, importance, lifestyle etc.
3. Hero's
CostumeIn the action genre the hero typically wears
expensive suits, this is most famously seen
in the bond films. In my film I would like to
incorporate this by having my ‘hero’ wear a
suit. This will add a level of class to my film
and will also keep it in line with the genre.
My hero will also be wearing a dark suit.
This is because the dark colors of the suit
will allow viewers to see him as a
mysterious figure despite being the hero.
4. Villains
Costume
I plan to also have my ‘villain’ in a suit.
However, despite most action films having
their villain in a dark suit I plan on having
mine in a light suit, like in ‘Sherlock’.This is
because I want my audience to be confused
as to who is the villain and who is the hero
right up to the last second. This will follow
the conventions of the action genre while
also adding my own twist to it. I feel like
this will make my short film different from
anyone else's.
