February 2016 – Present Assistant Accountant Scotch Frost of Glasgow
After the restructuring of the finance function of the company, I was offered the newly
created role of assistant accountant
My usual role includes all of the finance assistant duties listed below as well as:
o Daily bank reconciliations
o Daily margin analysis and stock reports for all depots
o Weekly and Monthly trading reports for sales reps and depots, which requires a high
level of competency on excel to manipulate data and present in a usable and simple
manner
o Forecasting future quantities required for certain items of inventories
o Reallocation of all directors and senior management expenses and credit cards
through the use of general journals and making sure all relevant VAT rules were
observed
2. Also been accountable for some exceptional tasks such as yearly bad debt write off, work
with and aid the external auditors and provide assistance with the preparation of the files
requested by the HMRC for vat and corporation tax inspection.
During this time, I have provided cover for credit control and allocated the cash receipts on
their behalf. I have also spent time counting the payments received from customers and the
correct process which ensures the risk of fraud is at a minimum. By doing this, I was able to
obtain a complete view of the finance function of the company.

Main component of the job were duties relating to the purchase ledger, such as:
o Receiving and invoicing stock for all depots onto the Microsoft NAV software
