Congratulations on the mess you
made of things
On trying to reconstruct the air and all
that brings
And oxidation is the compromise you
own
But this is beginning to feel like the
dog wants her bones saved
You force your fire then you falsify
your deeds
Your methods dot the disconnect
from all your creeds
And fortune strives to fill the vacuum
that it feeds
But this is beginning to feel like the
dog's lost her lead
This is beginning to feel like the long
winded blues of the never
This is beginning to feel like it's
curling up slowly
and finding a throat to choke

All to catch a bird's eye view of who's next

All could be the diamond

5. Lighting
I will use available light in my music
video, ideally it will be dark and
moody with a blue tint in the fight
scene, similar to the two shots that
are shown from attack on the left.
I have chosen a moody lighting
style because I think it reflects
the song well, the song DLZ
feels dark and threatening as
do a lot of the lyrics. The
available lighting choice will
make it seem more real and
therefore more intense.
6. Props and costume
Criminal (Male)
• Red hoodie
• Trainers
• Tracksuit trousers
• Black shirt
• Fake knife
Victim (Male)
• Bright green
hoodie
• Skate shoes
• Blue jeans
• Blue shirt
• phone
The red hoodie signifies that the character is
dangerous, due to the connotations of red e.g.
blood. The tattered shoes and tracksuit trousers
tells the audience this character may be from a
lower class family compared to the victim. The
black shirt makes the hoodie stand out more.
The knife is the weapon used to threaten in the
fight scene.
The bright green hoodie signifies that this character
is less dangerous and more moral. Blue jeans and
skate shoes add a casual sense to the character as
well as relating to the target audience because this
style is quite common among indie music fans. The
phone will be the object which the criminal desires, it
will be the centre of the fight.
7. Location
The main locations in the music video will be St. Stephens
underpass, an alley on St. Stephens street and my house.
I have chosen to film in St. Stephens underpass because the
available light is usually dim and gloomy, but enough to see
what's happening. It also has interesting artwork on the walls
that I may film. Overall the location has potential for some good
symmetrical shots due to the great perspective lines of the walls
and floor.
The alley shown on the left is a perfect place to film the scene of
conflict because its very narrow which creates a natural sense of
claustrophobia as well as looking rough and run down which will
compliment the mise en scene style in the music video. The
available light there will be just dim enough for the video as
well.
Finally I have chosen this bedroom in my house to film the
criminal’s scenes because I can make it up to look rough
because its in my own house and easy to access, It also has
many different lights which will allow me to control the light
intensity.
8. Plot summary
Follows evening of a criminal that attempts to attack and steal the victims phone, the motivation
for the attack is unknown. Shots of the aftermath of what happened that evening are intercepted
in the walking scenes and scenes of instruments playing as well as each characters actions before
the event, this creates enigma. The victim and criminal are followed through the streets, they
meet and there is a conflict. The criminal gets the victims phone but is injured and runs, the victim
chases him but loses him. The criminal returns home the aftermath shots are fore filled, he lies on
his bed injured. The final shot is the victim facing the criminals house.
