To Whom It May Concern,
It is with great pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Jorge Franco. I was honored when he
asked me to be a referee and I fully support his application. I have known Jorge since he commenced his
employment with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) as an Entry Clearance Assistant (ECA) at the British
Consulate-General in New York. I have worked closely with Jorge in his development as a Bespoke Entry
Clearance Officer (BAECO), making low-risk decisions on high value applications. I am impressed with
his decision to pursue this exciting opportunity and I know that he is exceptionally well prepared to
embark on this new endeavor.
Jorge’s experiences as an ECA not only helped to develop his career, but also assisted with his personal
development. Throughout his employment with UKVI, Jorge has acquired and applied organizational
skills, time management, and strong communication skills to effectively communicate with internal and
external partners. I have seen examples of his work where he has particular knowledge of our operation
and he is able to support current and newly hired ECAs by sharing his knowledge through effective
explanation and demonstration.
His work with UKVI has given him an understanding of a high pressured, constantly changing workplace
and because of these experiences he has gained flexibility in his working practices. Jorge is now part of a
team of BAECOs testing new and innovative ways of working. He confidently puts together his
observations and suggestions for consideration, as he understands the challenges of the operation but
also the development needs of low-risk decision makers. His contributions have allowed the management
team to view the wider impact of our new operational model.
I am certain Jorge’s understanding of entry clearance (visa work) and performance abilities will add great
value your organization. It is with the utmost confidence that I recommend him to your team.
Please feel free to contact me should you have any questions or need further information.
Kind regards,
J. Boria-Djellali
