Captained the 1st team rugby team for 3 years in a row.
Received college honours for excellence in leadership.
Previous work experience
1. Beaulah Bar nightclub (November 2012-December 2015) :
Part time bartender and manager, I’ve learnt a lot about the services industry and
gained a lot of experience working with people and solving problems, as well as
learning to work long hours and maintain a positive outlook when times are tough.
2. Manage my own share portfolio on the JSE, as well as trading in currencies, (January
2015-current). The approach I have taken is finding companies with inherent
underlying value that will be sustained over time, as well as identifying potential
opportunities, such as buying into SAB Miller when AB InBev put in a bid to buy
them over, locking in a 20% return in under a week. My portfolio as a whole is in a
positive return position.
3. AfrodizzyActs events (June 2015-current)
Entailed working for promotional jobs as well as a couple managerial jobs I took
charge of, such as manging a team of dancers for weddings etc.
4. Crew bartender (January 2016- current).
2. Key Skills and Competencies
Extremely self-motivated, driven and hard working. I have consistently worked a part
time job bartending, and managed my own JSE portfolio simultaneously whilst
completing my degree at UCT. This encompassed bartending long hours every
weekend and still making time for my passion for investing, whilst maintaining good
grades at university. The above mentioned is also a resemblance of my effective time
management skills.
Great communication skills and leadership ability. I held the position of deputy head
boy in grade 12, as well as captaining the first team rugby team 3 years in a row. I
also received college honours for excellence in leadership in my final year at school.
Commitment to continually furthering my knowledge and insight, actively managing
my share portfolio on the JSE, continually following relative news and furthering my
industry knowledge by reading related magazines and attending investment
conferences when possible.
Positive attitude and good at working in a team. I completed all my final year projects
at university working within groups.
Skilled at putting together and presenting work, completed a professional
communication course at university.
Reliable and punctual.
Interests
Highly passionate about the investment and business industry, as indicated by my
personal trading and investment profile.
Been involved in multiple social outreach events, such as physically building houses
for the underprivileged whereby we built houses for previously disadvantaged
individuals that had been on government waiting lists for accommodation for over 50
years. As well as collecting clothes and food for those in need, especially as winter
approaches in order to help as many keep warm as possible, as well as just donating
money when I can afford to. I believe any small difference you can make has a large
impact on these people’s lives.
Live a healthy active lifestyle. This helps me manage stress and keep a clear mind
which would help me cope under pressure situations. It has also taught me that results
do not come unless one is consistent day in and day out.
