 It is a software that allows accounting and financial
tasks thanks to their functions, specifically developed
to help create and work with spreadsheets.

Another alternative of Excel is to present the data
aesthetically: we can place different types of letter, borders,
give formats to cells, sort data, enter and store large amount
of information.

 Steps for building a spreadsheet:
 1. Open a new file in Excel and
save it somewhere on the PC
(our folder, Desktop, etc.)
 2. In the form we will enter a list
of 15 students with 5 notes each
and a final column that says
average

Steps for building a master data
sheet:
3. Students will order them with a
column that says "Last name" and
another one that says "Names", the
notes will be ordered as N1, N2, N3,
N4 and N5 and the final column as
"Average"
4. We will try to adjust the rows and
columns to a similar size and that we
can see as much as possible,
completely within the screen

 5. We will insert the data of the
students (Last Name + Name) in
different columns and not in
alphabetical order
 6. Then we will enter the notes
of each student, separating the
hundred of the tenth by a ",", for
example: 6.5
 7. Now, to make the work more
complex, we will insert a note
column 6 (N6) and a row for a
new student

 8. Then we will sort the data
in alphabetical order from
the last name
 9. We will add a new
column before the surname
column to number the
students (column "No.")

 9. In the Average column we will take the average
of each student by adding the corresponding
"Function"
 10. Repeat the formula to get all the averages
 11. We will look at the average cells and check that
there is no more than one decimal
 12. We will add a row up and we will put a title to
the template (for which we will combine cells)

 15. Then we will arrange some graphic details, like
colors, fonts, sizes, etc.
 16. Then we will add a new column called "Final
Situation" and use the logical function of "SI" to
establish a formula that throws students
"Approved" and "Disapproved", eg: = SI (E1> = 4;
";"reprobate")

17. Now we will create in a second sheet (that we will
call "Statistics"), the following elements:
A) Number of students: With formula "Count" selecting
all surnames
B) Highest average: With formula "Max" selected all
averages
C) Lowest average: With formula "Min" by selecting all
averages

18. In the same sheet of "Statistics" we will create a
graph selecting Surnames and Averages
19. The graph will be the one of bars and will show the
average of the course of each one of the students
20. We will carry out some final systematizations using
formulas such as conditional formatting to mark the
red and blue notes (and averages and final situation)
21. Finally in another sheet and with the same data, we
will order the sheet from the highest average to the
lowest
