3. Media institutions
The kind of media institution that might distribute my
film would be a small British company like BBC films
or Film 4.
This is because I am a small independent film maker
who is very new to the industry and completely
unknown
The BBC films and film 4 are known for supporting
new, up and coming film makers from the UK.
4. Investors
As I am a new film maker, investors will be taking a
gamble if they agreed to distribute my film as they
would not know if the film will make any profit
If I was a well known and well respected director like
Christopher Nolan or Steven Spielberg. One of the Big
6 studios and their distributors would definitely want
to distribute my film as the risk of not making any
money would be very small
5. Funding I could apply for funding on a scheme like the
“microwave” scheme or from an institution like the BFI
to help develop my film and help to get it to audiences
6. Screening
In reality I have made the opening few minutes of a thriller
film and so I am not going to be distributing it like a
finished feature film
To distribute the film that I have produced this year, I am
going to post it on Youtube, link it to my Twitter and
Facebook account to try and make sure as many people see
it as possible
I am also going to hold a screening of it in my sixth form
centre to show it to students that are not in my media
course.
