WORK EXPERIENCE
Teaching Assistant
Sutton Centre CommunityCollege - June 2011 to July 2011
After I'd finished my programme atPriestsic ,I had the opportunity in the final 2 weeks of school,to help the
learning supportstudents bygoing to lessons theywere in, telling them were to go. In the two final weeks of
school, I did completely opposite jobs. The first week, I was in classes helping the students with mental
disa0bilities etc, supervising exams with maths teachers and other subject areas. The final week was the
'activity week'meaning that I had to quickly choose an activity to help with. I decided to go with Rackets and
Bats, which was a huge bonus for me because Ienjoyteaching and Sport, throughoutthat week,I assembled
teams and got a few football games going. This was also a confidence boosting programme for me because
I realised even the older children have respectfor the other students.
Other Achievements
I also came second place in mySchools 50m swimming race in 2008.
I completed the heartstart and RAID courses in 2009.
Teaching assistant
Priestsic PrimarySchool - May 2011 to June 2011
May 2011-June 2011
I started off my work experience programme atPriestsic Primaryschool, because from a very young age I've
had a desire to work in the teaching industry.I believe that doing your programme atanytype of School takes
a whole lot of patience, consideration and kindness. Throughout my work experience programme, I felt my
confidence growing ever so slightly by the week, by the final week, I felt like a completely differently person
and I was sad to have to finish.I would of carried on working there but I still had my Gcse's to focus on and
preparation for the a-levels ( if I got the results thatI needed).Throughoutmyprogramme Iwas asked to help
a certain group with their handwriting, numeracy and literacy, there were odd times when they were in
assemblywhen I was asked to sharpen pencils and hand outthe sheets.
