2. Arena
⢠I want to work in the sport world.
Watching sporting events is what I
live for and getting to go to the Arena/
Ballpark everyday is something I need
in my life. To live it to the fullest.
⢠More importantly I want to be a MLB
GM for the Miami Marlins. Florida is
my hometown state and I want to be
the one who brings a world series
championship back to the great city of
Miami.
3. Identity
⢠My name is Jordan Brong from
Orlando, FL
⢠Ever since I was seven I have been in
love with the game of baseball. Iâve
known since an early age that I wanted
to work in the MLB and help build a
championship roster.
⢠I believe I bring a refreshing outlook on
the game who the players can relate too
and connect with over a long period of
time.
4. Skills
⢠Excellent Communicator
⢠Ready to soak up all
information I can learn.
⢠Team player
⢠Approachable
⢠Passion for the game
⢠Knowledgable of the game
5. Profession
⢠I am a very driven person. Once I set
my mind to a task I like to finish
that task before doing anything else.
⢠I think communication is what sets
me apart from other candidates. It is
important to me that I make sure
everyone is on the same page when
it comes to work and I like to take
charge of that situation so
everything is clear to my team
6. Credentials
⢠Knowledge of the game. Baseball has been my
passion ever since I was 8 years old and I love
studying the game and the players inside the game
⢠Understanding of how to look at analytics.
Analytics is a growing trend in the sport and I
know I have what it takes to discover what players
would help certain teams.
⢠I am a big nut when it comes to watching
prospects. It is the biggest thing that separates me
in my opinion because other people just look at
teamâs MLB roster but I like to dive deeper than
that and watch minor league players develop. This
gives me a outlook not only on the players today
but tomorrow as well.
7. Promise
⢠I promise to bring my A game everyday
to work because I know its not easy to
get into the sport business and itâs not a
opportunity I plan on wasting.
⢠I promise to communicate throughly
and effectively to my colleagues to
make sure we are all on the same page.
⢠I promise not to rest until I am certain
that the product I am providing is the
best it can possibly be.
8. Positioning
⢠I believe I am different because of the
fact that I prioritize communicating
and that is something I know clients
or colleagues look for in a job.
⢠I also believe that since Iâm so young
that I can bring a new refreshing
outlook on the game where I am
prepared to be a sponge and soak up
all information my higher ups
provide me.
9. Audience
⢠I like to think that my ability to go and talk to a boss
and get him to trust what I am saying and how you
communicate it is huge in sports and I believe I
posses that skill. When describing how a player
plays you can't just say "he's fast" you have to be able
to communicate that he explodes when coming out
the box with solid form rounding the bases with a
high baseball IQ when it comes to running the bases.
⢠I also want them to know that working for a MLB
franchise is what I have dreamed of my whole life.
So when It comes to showing up early and leaving
late it is something I wouldnât change for the world
because I know in the end when weâre holding a
World Series Championship trophy in our hands
itâll all be worth it.
10. Networking and Marketing
⢠After School I plan on taking a internship with one
of my old friends dad who happens to scout for
MLB teams. This will allow me to see how scouting
works and what they look for in a player which is
invaluable knowledge.
⢠I want to publish content that I am proud of and
willing to attach my name too. Using social media
can be dangerous and very beneficial and I want to
ensure I am using my efficiently.
⢠I want to move to Miami after my internship and
after school and start working for the Miami
Marlins at any capacity. I want to get my foot in
the door and start making my way up the chain so
that I can show them what I can do.
11. Competitors
⢠There is countless people vying for these types of jobs because
there is so few in the industry making almost anyone a
competitor.
⢠There are only 32 jobs in the MLB where you can be the GM
and making sure I make a lasting impression on the
ownership is going to be a priority moving forward.
⢠I am both similar and different from them in the sense that I
Believe I look past the MLB roster which most people donât do
and similar in the sense that this is every baseball fan and
former players dream is to build a world series championship
caliber team.
⢠Someone who can really be a threat to me moving forward is
Jessica Geymayr who is a Manager and a Marketing Brand
Activation major at University of Miami. She is a competitor
because of her proximity to Miami and her background in
management, brand activation and getting her sport
administration degree. https://www.linkedin.com/in/
jgeymayr/
12. Professional Development
⢠I need to get experience in the industry. Right
now I have zero experience and that cannot be
the case moving forward in my career.
⢠Teams will not hire a candidate with no
experience in the industry and turning that
around is my biggest priority moving forward.
⢠A mentor to me is going to be Harry Shelton
because he is going to teach me everything I need
to know about how to scout a player during my
internship with him.
⢠These opportunities are gonna take years but it is
a grind I am willing to wait out in order to
achieve my dreams.
13. Goals
⢠I want to achieve getting recognized in the
industry. Getting my name out there and
showing potential employers what I can do.
⢠I absolutely want to increase my brand
awareness because if nobody knows who you are
in this industry you are going to be left behind.
⢠I want to improve my professional image as well
to ensure that potential employers know what
theyâre getting when they hire me.
⢠My purpose of my personal branding endeavors
is to land the job of my dreams and win a
championship.
