Before and After projects presentation
1. Acton
Elementary School
Playground Construction
2003
Before I was elected on the School
Board I served as the Chairman of the
Playground Committee in my
hometown. The project consisted of
removing a gravel bank, consolidating
two playgrounds, adding new play
structures and a basketball court.

Rogers Pond Park
2004
The project was funded through a
LWCF grant and consisted of
paving the park entrance and
parking lot, renovating the park
grounds and constructing a large
picnic pavilion.

Community Center Grounds
Renovation
2009
In 2005 SPR moved into what was
a National Guard Armory. In
2007 the City Council authorized
a 1.5 million dollar renovation to
the building and grounds allowing
us to build the community asset
which is now the Community
Center.
4. The gym renovation included the installation of a brand
new floor with rubber subsurface mounts, 6 adjustable
basketball hoops, retractable batting cage, new windows,
LED lighting and HVAC system

Phoenix Field Construction
2009
We transformed the old landfill site that was
capped and used as a hay field into 7 acres of
multi purpose athletic fields. This project was
completed in conjunction with Saco DPW and a
great example of how a City can save money
when departments work together.

Burns School Playground
2013
The Burns School Playground project was the second renovation project undertaken by the Playground
Committee. This project entailed replacing a 21 yr. old wood structure while addressing site use issues such
as inadequate drainage and lack of safety zone separating the playground from vehicle traffic.

Parks Maintenance Building
Construction 2009
Previous to 2009 Parks vehicles
and equipment were all stored
offsite at 3 separate locations, each
of which had issues such as no
heat, flooding and no storage.
With the new building everything
was consolidated onsite with
ample storage, a heated workshop,
parks office and vehicle wash bay.
