Relevance to project. John has over 25 years of experience in arid and tropical irrigation systems. He has undertaken master planning, design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of irrigation systems in the U.A.E, Qatar and Australia. He has good experience in hydraulic modelling and pipe network analysis. He also has experience in water balancing, project cost estimation, planning, tendering, quality control and project management. He has done extensive design work on micro irrigation, has wide exposure in pump station design and irrigation automatic control systems. His work involves evaluation of existing irrigation systems, water budgets and system efficiency. This also involves optimising irrigation application and scheduling to prevent loss of water and nutrients below the crop root zone or through surface run-off and therefore limit the environmental footprint of the irrigation related activities.

Design and detailing of other pressurized water systems like potable water and fire fighting for entire PJA were also undertaken.
Worked as engineering co-ordinator for the Trunk Island. The task was coordinating between the client and GHD right from the conceptual design ‘till the tender submission and also between different disciplines of infrastructure utilities within GHD’s other operating centres.
