My Week 2 Assignment

1. TED Presentation

Helps Africa with disease/famine problem.

3. Breaking the Ice
Bono opens up TED talk with a joke.
Alexander Bell ordering a pizza.

4. Own Experiences
Bono talks about his encounters in Africa.
He also talks about what is happening there.

5. Dynamism
About a 3.5-4/5.
Keeps audience entertained/engaged.
Could‟ve been a 5/5 if was there in person.
Would „ve been nice to see interaction with audience.

6. Comparison to Nancy
Duarte
Bono uses her storytelling structure that’s she showed
in her TED talk.
Again he talks about his experiencing to tell stories.
An example: He tells a story of how he denied to take
a man baby to save him from death.

7. Personal Gained
Knowledge
I learned if possible talk about personal experience.
Add in a few jokes if possible.
It‟s also good to be passionate on what your talking about.

8. Comparison to Sir Ken
Robinson
Both want creativity in the schools, but Bono it getting that
help from TED instead of asking the “people” to help.
Both talked about personal funny stories to keep audience
interest.
Sir Ken Robinson seemed be outgoing/hands on since he
was there in person.
Bono seemed to have more experience in his cause then
Sir Ken Robinson seemed to have.

9. Tips
Don‟t be afraid to use color, but don‟t be extreme.
Keep it professional/clean looking, don‟t have junked
up/unorganized slides slides.
Visual/audio aids related to the topic are welcomed to a
limit.
If possible don‟t have an essay in a PowerPoint, use aids to
help tell your story in the presentation.
