17. Once there was a child named Shaneah, who
is living in an orphanage. According to the nun
who is attending the orphanage, Shaneah’s
parents are not dead, but they left Shaneah under
their care for some circumstances, and Shaneah
knows it.
Though Shaneah knew about how her parents
left her in the orphanage, she still wishes to see
them. That is why, she became devoted to God,
because she knows that God will grant her wish
and that is to see her parents and be with them
again.
18. So, every day before going to school, she
went to church and pray for protection, and ask
God to let her be with her family. She always
attends the mass every Sunday to ask God about
the same things.
One Sunday morning, when Shaneah is
walking towards the church, she bumped a man
and woman, who is walking hand in hand, she got
angry to them because the mass already started,
and she is late.
19. “Hey, you should watch your way!” she exclaimed
“We are sorry, young lady as you can see, I am blind”, the
blind man apologizes.
“How about your wife can’t she see me?”, she asked with
irritated voice
“We are sorry, young lady.”, the man answered again
“Why is it that you are the only one who is apologizing,
what about your wife, she should also apologize because she
bumped me even if she can see me!”
“I am sorry, young lady but, let me apologize in behalf of
my wife because she cannot hear and speak.”, the blind man
humbly apologizes
“Duh.”, Shaneah just rolled her eyes and left them.
20. Years passed by, and she is now, 20 years old
and was about to graduate in college, but still her
parents are nowhere to find. She started to doubt
the existence of GOD.
One day, when she is walking to the church,
she saw a familiar man and woman, sitting on the
bench looking at her, but she just ignores them,
because she can still remember that they are the
irritating couple who bumped her 12 years ago.
So, she went to church and pray to God.
21. “Lord, I have been good to you. I am always
devoted to you, but why can’t you give me back
my parents?”
And to her surprised, a cold air enveloped her,
and a deep voice answered.
“I already gave them to you when you were
eight but, you are not ready to have them, that is
why I took them back, and wait again until, you
are ready to have them.” God answered
“But, God, when is that? Why didn’t
recognized them?” she asked again.
22. “Remember the blind man and deaf woman, that
you bump outside this church when you were eight?”
“Yes, what about them?”
“They are your parents, but you were not ready to
have them at that time because you did not respect
them because they have disabilities. Now, let me ask
you? Are you ready to have them? If you are ready,
they are just outside waiting for you.”, then the cold air
that enveloped her gone.
23. Shaneah’s tears start to fall as she remember what
did she do to her parents back then. She stands up and
run towards the exit and finally found her parents
patiently waiting for her to recognized them. She
hugged them tightly and asked for forgiveness for
recognizing them late.
As she hugged them, she realized that her wished
was given to her earlier, but it became a late blessing
because she is not yet ready to have it.
24. Moral Lessons:
If we have unanswered prayers,
maybe, God knows that we are not
ready for it, so we should wait
patiently for God’s perfect time.
25. Psalms 37:7
“Rest in the LORD, and wait
patiently for him”
-Remember that God works in a
different time table.
26. Patience is not about
how long one can wait,
but how well one
behaves while waiting.
