1. Introduction
I will be working on a contemporary dance show which
will be held over 2 nights at Arley Hall and Gardens with
an audience capacity of 100 people per night. The show
its self is titled Amal Gramation and the concept of the
dance show is a professional, site specific dance event
which showcases the variety of work created by A-level
dancers here at Priestley College.
My specific role
My specific job role for this production is a Lighting Technician. This will involve rigging the
lights in the venue and operating the lights during the event and then de-rigging the lights
and returning the equipment.

What am I doing
As a lighting technician I am responsible for preparing the lights. This will entail making sure
they work, troubleshoot them if they don’t and the fix any problems. I will be responsible
for rigging the lights and focusing the lights. This will involve changing the beam angle with
barn doors and putting gels in the lights. Also I will be responsible for operating the lights on
a lighting desk so I will be responsible to patch the desk as well.

Who is my manager?
My Manager is JPS. JPS is the technical manager and I am under him. As well as my standard
roles and responsibilities he will give me extra duties to carry out. I haven’t yet made
contact, but nearer the show date we will discuss roles in order the night runs smoothly.
