college.
• Official transcripts from accredited institutions will be reviewed against
established standard equivalencies, and transfer equivalency will be
recommended by the appropriate dean (or a designee).
– If you have questions/concerns about transfer credits, please
email tranevalreq@waketech.edu.
• A transcript review can take 6 – 8 weeks to process.

29. FYI - Finding Patients
• Dental Assistants need patients for x-rays; Hygienists need patients for x-rays and
cleanings.
• It is the students’ responsibility to ensure that enough patients are scheduled to meet
minimum requirements for clinic. Quotas are assigned for each semester and are
included in the syllabus for each clinical course.
• The Dental Clinic maintains a list of perspective patients to assist the students in
finding acceptable patients.
Be prepared for cancellations
Try to schedule reliable, responsible patients
Utilize all social networks
30. Our Dental Hygiene Clinic takes
patients from adults to 4 years of age!
To get a first hand perspective of the
clinic and the job functions – become
a patient.
Screening appointments are usually 1-
2 hours long
Cleanings take 2-5 visits on average;
each visit may be 3-4 hours long

Editor's Notes
If required, pre curriculum classes should be the first priority. Then students can begin taking General education classes for their respective programs.

The classes you take have point values. It is often better take fewer and perform better than take too many and suffer. So always consider your life/school balance.
Work Life Balance is so important. It is less about the number of classes you take and more about your performance and understanding of the content of those classes.
MAR can be met through SAT/ACT, MM, or college coursework if it is within 5 year timeframe. If not, then you will take the placement to determine what requirements need to be fulfilled.
