2. Character stereotypes
Normally in a psychological thriller film, there are a few characters
who exist in every one of these films. Conventionally there is a killer
antagonist who is normally male, that is the case in our film here.
There is also a few detectives who are trying to get this killer, these
are normally the protagonists, this is the case with our film also. We
have chose to have a detective as our protagonist because this is the
case in films like “silence of the lambs” and “gone girl”. There is also
usually tends to be teenagers killed off one by one in horror and
thriller films. This is the case in our film, as we have chosen various
different teenage actors of both sexes to be killed off one by one.
3. Antagonist
We decided to make our antagonist dress in all black and
with a white shirt. This is because the color black
represents death and darkness. It also connotes to the
archetype in films that villains always wear black. We
also had him in a posh white shirt to show his
intelligence. This may show that he is calculating and
makes him seem even more evil to the audience.
For his weapon we chose a knife rather than a gun
because this supports the traditional stereotype of killers
in horrors. As it is far more menacing.
