DAY 1: Rocking Out (50 minutes): The learners and the teacher will go on a rock hunt. Learners shall be grouped. They will take a walk around the
school grounds. Learners will search for any rocks and will bring a rock to share.
Learners will discuss the properties of the rocks and compare their size and shape. Have small groups take turns sorting the rocks by differ ent
properties, like size, texture, color, luster, and hardness. Let the learners decide how best to display their collection. Learners can do research online
to find out what minerals might be in their rocks. Learners will draw a draft of their rock on a piece of paper and will submit it to the teacher.
INTRODUCING & DEVELOPING
CONCEPT
DAY 2:
Motivation: Ask the class to differentiate a rock from a mineral.
Introduce the lesson for the day.
Lecture Discussion (50 minutes): Learners will listen to the concepts
of minerals and rocks.
DAY 3:
Individual Activity (50 minutes): Learners will construct a creative
Venn diagram to compare and contrast minerals from rocks.
Direction: Using any editing app, create a Venn diagram. Write the
differences and similarities of rocks and minerals. Then draw a
