Sustainability (2/22/2016 to 3/11/2016):
Helped lead students on a deep immersion experience into Maori Culture while learning about the
history of this culture, its loss due to the incursion of the modern world, and its revitalization as an
effort to reclaim self-identity. Being Bi-cultural first as a necessity to becoming truly multi-cultural
was central to the practice of revitalization. The connection between cultural and the environment is
central to the Maori way of life and the is a perfect model to follow for improvements in our own
environmental sustainability efforts.
