7. Voice over ideas
Everybody loves birthdays right? The parties, the presents and to well put the
cherry on the cake, the cake. Well for one young lady all of that changed on the 5th
of May 2018.
Commenting on dads interview:
On the face of it you cant disagree. Freddie (insert image) has a history with
stealing food and even cake (image of family party) ,previously eating chocolate
cake, landing him at the vets. But there was something about this whole business
that didn’t sit right with me.
Doesn’t sit right with me that the cake was so far from the cupboard.
Not much happens here in the village.(shots of the village)
8. Shot ideas

• First of all right a good plot and then add good jokes.
• Don’t you fancy cake now (awkward)
• Keep Camera rolling after interview, caught saying something.
• Physical evidence, pieces of paper, An address?
• Conveniently timed reveals to keep uupp pace of show, set up nature of
these shows.
• Could solve case really easily, target of investigation moves to family
secrets. Or someone comes forward with something that makes everything
really simple, put in after credits.
10. Who’s Lying?
• Rachel- Not at work when she says she was, where was she? Why lie?
Who was she with? (could make it so she was planning a birthday
surprise)(Tip-off call)
• Daisy-Home earlier than admitted/was in village, Why lie? Who was
she with? what's she hiding? (tip-off call)(Letter)(text)(social media
message)
• Mark-Wasn’t asleep, Dropped cake. Cracks under pressure. Too eager
to blame Freddie.
• Jesse-Dropped cake, creating story for the doc. Eager to make doc.
Needed ideas, creative block. Scenario benefits him.

interview(multiple)with credits)

• Explaining that I thought I had a dead rubber (not exactly the next serial)
• Speech about nothing deeper going on…
• Until received a phone call a week or so after I started this…
• Play phone call.
• End by saying maybe more secrets lie beneath the surface.

Maybe not…
• END
14. Ideas
• Question Mark about why he's not more bothered about his wife's missing time,
maybe they both know something.
• Cake eaten/destroyed.
• Actual theft, maybe some jewellery went missing.
• Possible conspiracy, I did it for the doc as I had no original ideas.
• Solve it in 5 minutes(joke).
• Footage of everyone sitting down to their interviews. Sync up clips of them saying
there names.
• Each character describes part of what happened.(cut between)So they form
together to give the full picture, maybe each person has slightly different story.

• ML-Oh right, sorry, so after I got up I went downstairs and saw Daisy standing over her half eaten birthday cake.(look of guilt)I
mean look I don’t know why we are even talking about this because I mean its pretty clear who, or should I say what it was.
• JL-(interjecting) you mean Freddie
• ML-(raise eyebrows in acknowledgement) He does these things all the time. Its the reason he is now in his cage during the day.
