Management Philosophy
I am a fan of Patrick Lencioni’s Five Dysfunctions of a Team. I have studied as well as taught from his book. These
dysfunctions are “absence of trust,” “fear of conflict,” “lack of commitment,” “avoidance of accountability,” and
“inattention to results.” As in his book, I believe that addressingthese dysfunctions can help teams not only work
better together, but perform better (higher quality output).
A second philosophy thatI embrace is Management-by-Fact. Management-by-Fact is something that I practiceand
request of those around me. This helps to ensurethat all issues arehandled appropriately and no panicsarestarted
by inaccurate or emotionally-enhanced reporting. Further, this clarifies options and alternatives with prospective
actions.
